HomeMy WebLinkAboutRE Site Plan Review - 9000 Astronaut Blvd (2)Mark, Fire department access is not just for the building but other events that take place on the Property. The new ambulance height is 11’ 3 inches, The back parking lot shall have a minimum vertical clearance of 12 feet. This will prevent any of our heavy vehicles from entering the area and still allow our EMS crews access. My other concern is with the fire hydrant on the current site plan. Its just a matter of how it is facing, currently it puts the firefighter in the path of traffic while getting it hook up. I don’t see this as a major issue as there looks to be enough room to turn it. The better scenario is to have the parking space to the north stripe off which would give us a better working area. Understanding that there are always issues with the number of parking spaces I would not ask for that unless we have and excessive amount. If there are ant other questions please feel free to contact me at 321-863-8889, this is my cell number, Thanks From: Mark Robbins [mailto:MarkR@lbaproperties.com] Sent: Thursday, May 22, 2014 4:00 PM To: John Cunningham Cc: David Dickey; Hayne Hollis; Noel Subject: RE: Site Plan Review - 9000 Astronaut Blvd. Asst Chief Cunningham – A couple quick question on your review comments. No. 1 – FIRE ACCESS ROUTE Please refer to the attached pdf that depicts the fire access route circumnavigating the entire building. Will the fire access route as shown suffice for your approval? We have a structural challenge with the slab over the underground stormwater system and need to restrict the last 3 rows of parking to passenger vehicles. Access to the enclosed dumpster is still adequate for your fire trucks and has been approved by Dan Robson at Waste Pro for solid waste collection. No. 2 - FRONT FIRE HYDRANT LOCATION Please refer to the attached pdf that is an enlargement of the utilities at the front of the building. Would appreciate clarification on the location / direction of the FH. We placed the FH adjoining 2 exit lanes onto A1A, and setback from A1A active travel-way by the turnlane; also close to the DDCV and Siamese connection; in addition, the onsite pavement in this area is 36’+ due to the canopy drive-thru. The back parking lot shall not be block from fire department access. 2. The fire hydrant at the front entrance will need to be placed in a position that doesn’t put the firefighter in the path of vehicle traffic. Florida has a very broad public records law.
