HomeMy WebLinkAboutA1A Economic Opportunity Overlay District (2)Fellow Department Directors: The City of Cape Canaveral is preparing a Zoning Overlay District for the A1A corridor between the Port in the north and the Canaveral River in the south. The purpose of the Zoning Overlay is to create additional opportunities for economic development and job creation in the City. The Overlay will address architectural design standards, increased building heights, revised hotel requirements, and allow for additional uses in the Overlay Area. A copy of the draft language of the Zoning Overlay District is attached. The City is also hosting a meeting of all property owners in the Overlay Area to discuss with Staff and consultants the proposed Overlay guidelines. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, February 9, 2012 at 6pm in the Library Meeting Room at 201 Polk Avenue. An Economic Development Open House for all residents will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2012. At this time, the A1A Zoning Overlay as well as Community Redevelopment Agency and Brownfields Redevelopment Program will be discussed.
