RESOLUTION NO. 2:-‘ 71

A RESOLUTION ELECTING A SUCCESSOR COUNCILMAN
TO THE VACANCY ON THE CITY COUNCIL: PROVIDING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Section 4 of Article III of the Charter of
the City of Cape Canaveral, Florida, provides : "If any
vacancy occurs in the City Council, for any reason other
than a recall of the Councilman, the City Council shall

vacancy, elect a successor councilman who shall serve

for the remainder of the term of office of the council-
man whom he succeeded, " and
WHEREAS, Councilman Martin F. Schrider, did tender
a letter of resignation to become effective on December
1st, 1966, and
WHEREAS the Council did on December 6, 1966 accept
the said resignation and declare a vacancy to exist on
the said Council.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the said City
Council of the City of Cape Canaveral, Florida, as follows:
SECTION 1. G. J. Salvaggio is hereby
elected to the office of Councilman of the City of Cape
Canaveral, Florida and the said G. J.. Salvaggio
shall serve for the remainder of the term of office of
Martin F. Schrider whom he succeeded, the said term of
office expiring in June 1967.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall take effect
immediately upon its adoption.
ADOPTED by the City Council at Regular Meeting on
December 6, 1966.
