RESOLUTION
. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND REQUESTING, BOARD
• OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF BREVARD COUNTY TO
PURCHASE ON: BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CAPE CANAVERAL
• • CERTAIN FIRE FIGHTING EQUIPMENT; PROVIDING AN
• 'EFFECTIVE DATE.'
• WHEREAS, the City. of Cape Canaveral is due;.the sum of ;
• • . $5,800 during: the. current tax year from the Board of County.
Commissioners of.Brevard County and,
WHEREAS, the City of Cape Canaveral has previously
• requested the-,said Board `of .County Commissioners to adver-
. tise. for bids for._certain firefighting equipment and,
WHEREAS, the . said .Board of County Commissioners has -
. so advertised and transmitted to the said City the bids
received and,
WHEREAS, it ,lis the desire of the City of Cape Canaveral
that award of. bid• be made to one of the prospective. bidders.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE
. CANAVERAL, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS: •
SECTION 1, The, City Council, after due consideration •
of the_.bids received in. . regard to its purchase of a 750 •
gallon fire engine pumper .in accordance ,.With the . City's
• specifications, does. hereby reject the low bid received
from Atlantic Fire Apparatus for the reason that the next
lowest bid contains features• installed on the fire truck
superior,, in the opinion of the City, to those offered' •
.by the low bid such .as certain stainless steel fixtures .
and fittings and a side control panel. ,
•SECTION 2. The Board of County Commissioners of Brevard
• County .hereby authorized and •directed acting on behalf
• of the City of Cape Canaveral, Florida, to purchase from
Seagrave Commercial Fire Apparatus one (1) Seagrave-Ford,
C850, 750 GPM pumper, built in strick accordance with the • •
City's specifications, at a. total purchase price of $22,210,
as per. the• bid. • ::

SECTION 3. The Board of County Commissioners of Brevard
County is further authorized and directed to apply any monies
due the City of Cape Canaveral under the District fire
fighting equipment assessment toward the purchase of said
Seagrave-Ford pumper and any monies to become due the City
of Cape Canaveral during the 1966 through 1967 fiscal year.
SECTION 4. City Manager of the City of Cape Canaveral
is hereby authorized and directed to negotiate with Seagrave
Commercial Fire. Apparatus a plan of financing and payment :. •
of the balance due said Company on the said purchase oyer: :
and above the amount to be paid by the Board of County
Commissioners of. Brevard County on behalf of the City of
Cape Canaveral.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Cape Canaveral,
Florida, on this 2nd. Day, of August, 1966
