RESOLUTION NO. 66-16
A RESOLUTION CANVASSING THE RETURNS OF THE FREE-
HOLDER ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF CAPE CANAVERAL •
•ON MARCH 29, 1966, AND REAFFIRMING THE CANVASS
PREVIOUSLY CONDUCTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, ON THE
EVENING OF MARCH 29, 1966.
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Cape Canaveral,
Florida, by its Resolution duly and regularly adopted at its
meeting held on the 15th day of February, 1966, did call an
election for the purpose of submitting to the qualified electors
residing in such City, who were freeholders and who had specially
reregistered therefor, for their approval or disapproval of the
issuance by the City of general obligation bonds in the principal
amount of not exceeding $1,200,000, bearing interest at a rate or
rates not to exceed. the legal rate, and such Resolution having
further provided and did direct that notice of such election be
given by publication in accordance with law; and
WHEREAS, due and regular notice of such bond election has
been published in the Cocoa Tribune, a newspaper of general circu-
ublished in
lation within the City of Cape Canaveral and/Brevard County, Florida,
said publication having been made once each week for four consecu-
tive weeks with the first publication thereof was. : not less than
thirty (30) days prior to the date of such special election, to-wit:
March 29, 1966; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the aforesaid Resolution calling said
election and in accordance with law, the question stated in said
Resolution was submitted to the qualified electors residing in said
City who were freeholders and who had specially reregistered for
participation therein on March 29, 1966; and
WHEREAS, it appears that the ,list of the names of qualified
electors who are freeholders and who had specially reregistered for
participation in said election residing in said City as certified by
the Supervisor of Registration of the City, and as disclosed by a
certified copy of said list heretofore filed with the Council of the
City, constitutes a true, accurate and complete list of all free-
holders qualified to participate in. said election; that all persons
whose names appeared on said list were qualified to vote in said

bond election; that in additionv 51. registered electors were entitled
to vote at such bond election upon providing proof of freeholder status
under Section 100.241 (4), Florida Statutes; and that 'the total sum.
of qualified electors who are freeholders residing within said City
entitled to participate in said election was 346; and
WHEREAS, it appears that the inspectors and clerks
appointed to conduct said election at every voting place where the
election was held were duly furnished a certified copy of the list
of all voters qualified to participate in said election, in accord-
ance with law; and that such certified lists, together with the list
of freeholder electors who voted at such election pursuant to
Section _100.241 (4), Florida Statutes, have been returned to this
Council by said inspectors and clerks together with the returns
hereinafter mentioned; and
• WHEREAS, it appears that said election has been duly and
properly held in accordance with law and that the votes case thereat
have been returned, delivered and canvassed, and that the returns of
said election have been delivered to this Council for the purpose of
canvassing said election returns and determining and certifying the
result thereof; and
WHEREAS, it appears that the total number of votes cast
in said election by the qualified electors who at the time of said ••-q1
election were freeholders residing in said City and who had specially
reregistered therefor, or were otherwise duly qualified was 310, out
of the total number of 346 qualified electors, as aforesaid, residing
in said City and legally qualified to participate in said election;
and
WHEREAS, it appears from the official returns of said
election so delivered to the Council and so canvassed by this
Council as aforesaid that the total number of votes cast in said
election by the freeholder electors residing in said City who were
qualified to participate therein in ' favor of the issuance of said
bonds was 202, and that the total number of votes cast in said
election by the qualified freeholder electors residing in said City
against the issuance of said bonds was 108; and

WHEREAS, it appears that a majority of the freeholders
who are qualified electors and who specially reregistered as
required by law participated in such election and a majority of
such freeholders participating in such election cast their votes
in favor of each issue of bonds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, DETERMINED, FOUND DECLARED
AND HEREBY CERTIFIED by the Council of the City of Cape Canaveral,
Florida, at a meeting of said Council, duly and regularly held, at
which the said official returns of said election have been duly
and regularly canvassed according to law, as follows that:
Section 1. The total number of qualified electors residing
in the City of Cape Canaveral, Florida, who were freeholders and
legally qualified to participate in said election held on the 29th
day of March, 1966, was 346. •
Section 2. The total number of votes cast in said election
by said qualified electors residing in said City who at the time of
said election were freeholders was 310.
Section 3. The total number of votes cast in said election
by said qualified electors residing in said City who at the time of
said election were freeholders in favor of the issuance of said bonds
was 202.
Section 4. The total number of votes cast in said election
by said qualified electors residing in said City who at the time of
• said election were freeholders against the issuance of said bonds
was 108.
Section 5. . A majority of the qualified electors residing in
the City who at the time of such' election were freeholders and legally
entitled to participate in such election did participate therein and
a majority of the votes cast in such election were in favor of approv-
ing and did approve the issuance of said bonds .
Section 6. Said election was in all respects conducted in
accordance with law, and that all steps in connection with and
preceding such election have been duly, regularly and lawfully taken
and had, and that all provisions of the statutes and Constitution of
the State of Florida have been duly complied with.

Section 7. Said returns be entered and recorded in the
minutes of the Council; that this Resolution, determination, finding,
declaration and certificate be recorded in the minutes of this •
Council.
ADOPTED by the City Council' of the City of Cape Canaveral,
Florida, on this 31st day of March, 1966, at the hour of j' ' P.M.
