RESOLUTION NO. 79-57
A RESOLUTION PROTESTING AYATOLLAH KHOMEINI 'S
POSITION ON THE CAPTIVITY OF AMERICAN HOSTAGES
IN IRAN; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS , the Iranian terrorists have captured American
citizens and are holding them as hostages in violation of
international law, civilized principles , and human decency; and
WHEREAS , the radical Khomeini government condones these
terrorists ' actions of the mob which seized the United States
Embassy compound in Iran; and
WHEREAS , Ayatollah Khomeini continues his deplorable,
self-serving, irrational , fanatic position to foster mob rule
and advocate extended captivity of American hostages in grave
violation of international legal rights ; and
WHEREAS, all these conditions are contemptious ;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CAPE CANAVERAL , FLORIDA, that :
SECTION 1 . The City Council of the City of Cape Canaveral ,
Florida expresses contempt for the terrorists acts of Iran,
the Khomeini Government and the Ayatollah' Khomeini as well
and demands the immediate release and safe return of all
American hostages.
SECTION 2 . This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Cape Canaveral ,
Florida, this 4 day of December , 1979 .
