RESOLUTION NO. 78-17
A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING AND IMPOSING GARBAGE
CUTFCTION RATES; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Cape Canaveral, Florida and Fleckinger's
Refuse, Inc. have entered into a garbage and rubbish collection agreement
effective May 1, 1978; and
WHEREAS, the existing garbage collection ordinance has not yet been
Uamended to be in conformance with the said agreement; and
WHEREAS, it is now incumbent upon the City Council to establish and
impose garbage rates to the users of said service in accordance with the
said agreement until such time as a garbage ordinance can be adopted;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of
Cape Canaveral, as follows:
SECTION 1. The following rates are hereby established and imposed
upon the users of garbage service in the City of Cape Canaveral, Florida,
beginning May 1, 1978;
(a) Single family residences and duplex living units at $3.85 per
living unit per month.
(b) Mobile home units at $2.60 per living unit per month.

(c) Individual apartment or condominium units with trash cans at
$2.60 per living unit per month.
(d) Individual commercial business accounts with trash cans at
$ .63 per can per pickup, not to exceed $10.40 per month.
(e) Commercial dumpsters used by commercial businesses, apartment
complexes and condominiums at $11.65 per container yard per month.
The above rates are for regularly scheduled twice weekly collection.
(f) Special collection services, in addition to the normally provided

twice weekly service for commercial dumpsters as provided in paragraph (e)
above at $1.66 per container yard per pickup.
(g) For items requiring special handling due to size, weight, type of
material or method of placement, the charges are to be negotiated between
Collector and the customer prior to collection.
(h) Rates for service not provided for in this resolution shall be
determined by the City Manager based on rates provided herein for similar
type of service.

(1) A .25 billing charge shall be added to each bill sent by the City.
SECTION 2. Refuse shall be picked up from residential yard locations,
but will not be picked up if said containers are placed inside fenced areas.
Trash will be picked up from curbside locations.
SECTION 3. There shall be a once per week trash pickup service for
all non-containerized trash placed at curbside, at no cost.
SECTION 4. This Resolution shall become effective May 1, 1978, and
shall be effective until such time as a garbage ordinance shall be adopted.
