DIRECTOR'S REPORT
May 16, 1984
The Annual Spring Fling Racquetball Tournament was held
April 27 28 and 29. Ti weather, although a bit warm,
was very good. We had 72 partichi_pants. Enclosed in your
packet is a tournament report.
City Council approved the Board's recommendation to
alloceview Elementary School to use the Complex courts
for the mini -enrichment classes. There are 15 students
participating in tennis. Racquetball was cancelled as
they could find no one to instruct the children.
The Recreation Department children's Ballet and oreative
Dance classes will be presenting an end of the year program
at Capeview Elementary on Friday, May 25th at 5:00 p.m.
Parents, friends and families of the children have been
invited. You are also cordially invited to attend.

On 'June 1 and 2 the Recreation Departments in Cocoa Beach,
District II (Kiwanis Island), District IV (Cocoa/Rockledge)
and Cape Canaveral will join together for a Leisure Showcase
at Merritt Square Mall. Each department will have tables
with information and displays from various classes and
demonstrations will be held in front of Ivey's. Cape
Canaveras demonstrations will include Karate on Friday,
June 1 at 6:00 p.m. and Ballet and Creative Dance on Sat-
urday, June 2 at 12:30 p.m. We will also be accepting Summer
Recreation registration at that time.
Staffing for our summer recreation program has been
completed. I'm presently in the process of ordering materials
and planning program content with the staff's assistance.
It should once again be a good program, one that we can all
be proud to be associated with. City Council approved your
recommended proposal. The submitted proposal and, a summer
recreation flyer are enclosed in your packet.
Little League Appreciation Day will be held on
Saturday, June 2.
