Members Present: Mr. Rhame, Mr. Meilleur, Mr. Hare, Ms. Riggs Nr.Uelton,
Mrs. Nicholas, Mrs. Butler,
0thers Present: Wally Homer, Jane Meilleur,. Ers. Hanson.
Ns. Riggs motioned to accept the Aug. minutes with corrections and additions.
Correct the date of the M.D. tournement to read Sept. 2,304. Add recreation
person after the words "additional 40 hours".
Jane Heilleur appeared to request the use of the racquetball courts for the
following dates;
Oct.22 for 2 hrs. for Mr. Rathbun to hold a free clinic.
Nov.19..allday 8 to 10 ..play day for the Racquetball Club.
Mr. Welton motioned to accept this request and that they be assessed the
normal residential rate. Er. Rhame seconded. All in favor.
DIRECTORS REPORT:
There will be a Handball Tournement onatgnsponsored by the Rec. Dept.
All Shores Construction is donating new metal doors for the Racquetball courts.
Posts for the basket ball courts willbe repaired and put up.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Fla. Power and Light.... -,ouncil will send a mailout to each registered
voter. Mr. Welton would like to use some of Mr. Castagnols report on the
growth of Cape Canaveral with reference to recreation. He gculd also like
to emphasize that the property will be sold on the commercial market if the
citizens turn it down . Mr. Welton would like the Board to endorse a letter
of this type and circulate itto the public.
Racquetball Court Committee Report.....Concrete figures and a rough blueprint
will be presented at a later meeting.
NEW BUSINESS
Fees for use of the courts for tournements were presented by the Director.
Yr. Welton motioned to table this. Mr. Meilleur seconded. Marc, Nicholas
Welton, Meilleur, Rhame, Butler, for...Riggs against.
Nr.Welton recommended a trial advance reservation period which would allow
reservations one full day in advance per person and no additional reservation
until one full day has passed. This will begin on Oct. 9th with an update
at the next board meeuing. Ms. Riggs seconded. All in favor.
Ms. Riggs motioned to adjourn. Mr. Welton seconded. All in favor
