HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 10-25-78RECREATION BOARD MEETING October 25, 1978 Members present: Mr. Mare, Mr. Meilleur, Mrs. Nicholas, Mr. Welton Others present: Mr. Dare, Mr. Fountain, Mrs. Hanson, Mr. Murphy Mr. Welton moved to accept the September minutes. Mr. Meilleur seconded. All in favor. Directors report: Attached material, plus note WaS made that the Life & Breath and Cancer tournaments were not charged any court fees, due to previous commitments. Unfinished business: Mr. Welton updated the efforts taken to pass the resolutfOn concerning the Florida Power & Light block. New business: Mr. Meilleur moved to allow all part time employees li times their normal hourly rate for hours worked on holidays. Mr. Welton seconded. All in favor. Mr. Welton moved to extendto the Recreation Director the ability to reserve up to 12 court hours in advance for group functions. In addition, the trial reservation system shall continue through the November meeting. Mr. Meilleur seconded. Allin favor. Mr. Dare represented the Cape Canaveral Racquet- ball Association, and requested advence reservations to sponsor a racquetball tournament December 15(from 6:00 P.M.) through December 17. Mr. Welton moved to accept this request. Mr. Mare seconded. All in favor. Reservations for no shows: Tt was decidec to table this item, and discuss it at the November meeting, Mr. Welton moved to accept the Recreation Directors recommendation of a :$13.00 fee to the Cape Canaveral Racquetball Association for expenses of their October 15 event. Mr. Meilleur seconded. All in favor. Mrs. Nicholas moved to accept the Recreation Director's suggested fee schedule for special events, until the current fee schedule can be reviewed in its entirety. Mr. Meilleur seconded. All in favor. 21$cuPs19n; Mrs. Hanson. made note that; since the Recreation Complex opened in December, 1975, she would. like to sponsor a. celebration. Tournaments and publicity for the weekend of December 16 &17 were discussed® Rates and charges at the Recreation Center were also discussed. New ideas concerning prime and non -prime rates, instead of day and. night rates; in addition to fees charged for all activities, were brought up. The subject of fees was tabled. until yhe November meeting. Mr. Meilleur moved to adjourn. Mr. Marc seconded. All in Vavor.
