HomeMy WebLinkAboutTown Hall forum Re Request for details regarding meeting between City and Cumberland Farms RepsGood morning, Mia,
You said,"but we will try to get the information to you as soon as we
can. I will shoot by close of business tomorrow. "
I look forward to receiving this information. As I said, I'm not looking
for a custom report, I'm just looking for the notes that were kept on
the previous meeting with Cumberland Farms.
I sense there is a lot of distrust with this matter in the community and
to alleviate that I'd like suggest a special town hall forum where
officials of the city perhaps David or Todd can come out and talk to the
citizenry about this proposed development. Not only can they talk but
they can listen too.
Would the city be open to that? I think this would be in the true spirit
of Florida hometown democracy.

Thanks Mia, I know you are busy as so am I. I'm not asking for a
custom report. I just thought the city would be keeping a journal and
record of such an important meeting that could be shared with the
citizens.
But failing this would someone from the city such as the city
mayor, David or Todd be willing to come out and talk to a citizens
group? Their group meets tonight at 7:pm. If someone from the city is
willing to come out and share what transpired at this meeting then ask
them to call me at 321-243-8097 <tel:321-243-8097> .

Ray,
We are trying to get two Agendas/Packets out due
tomorrow and we’re somewhat backed up at the moment. Turnaround time on
requests such as yours usually take anywhere from a couple of days to a
week, depending on how busy we all are and the nature of records
requested. Most of my day and the Directors’ day will be taken up with
Agenda items, but we will try to get the information to you as soon as
we can. I will shoot by close of business tomorrow.
Thanks again for your patience.

Mia, will this information be forthcoming before 5pm
tonight? There is a meeting of concerned citizens and
if we don't have accurate information then there is a
danger of misinformation. Comments like 'cover-up' and
'secret meetings' need to be mitigated and we can only
do that if we have open and honest communication between the citizens
and the city.
Or if you can't get it before 5pm please give me some
expectations when this report will be sent out. There must be
some email that was shared no?

Thank you Mia,
I'd much rather have a open line of communication with
my city rather than having to evoke my rights
as a citizen under the Florida Sunshine Law.
As I have said many times to both Todd and recently with
David, my intention is to help foster open communication
with all parties concerned over these matters. Open
communication will help reduce 'community blowback' while at
the same time foster the ideal of hometown democracy
that I have come to appreciate with my city.
I look forward to the information that your department
can supply me regarding the meeting with Cumberland Farms
last week.

Good morning Ray,
We have received your Public Records Requests from last
week and today and we are working to compile information for you in a
timely manner.
With regard to your question below, Todd Morley and
David Dickey met with the developer and there was no audio or
transcript. Meetings of this sort are a common occurrence between
developers and City/County planners throughout the State and it is not
required that we make the public aware each time they do.
Thank you for you patience.

Good morning, Susan.
It came to my attention there was a meeting between
representatives of the
city and Cumberland Farms last week,
I hereby request details be made available regarding
this meeting. Is there a
audio recording of this meeting? or a transcript? I'd
like to know the parties to
this meeting please.
