HomeMy WebLinkAboutCitizen Questions Re Letter from Timothy Parsons Deputy State Historic Preservation Officer BR1936 (2)Thanks for the reply, David. I appreciate the open level of
communication we have.
I also wanted to ask you as a representative of the city about the
discussions that you had last week with the Cumberland Farms and their
reps with Metrogroup. I know there is a lot of rumors and perhaps
misinformation floating around the community and we all would do better
with real facts. Here are a few questions, please answer those that you
can.
1) Did the Cumberland Farms rep express any willingness to look at other
properties in the city to build their gas station? Other than the one at
the subject property. Many in our community feel there are blighted
areas or even older convenience/ gas stores that would be more promising
for their development.
2) Can you tell me and for public record what citizen concerns were
conveyed to the Cumberland Farms representatives Metrogroup?
3) And pertaining to my previous submission. Did any discussion come up
about the archaeology site on the area? If so, did it appear that they
as the new owners of the property would allow for a proper
archaeological excavation of the property before land removal and
building started?
Thanks again, I look forward to your earliest reply.

Thanks for the follow-up Ray. Mr. Parsons will be a valuable
resource as development of this and surrounding sites is considered.

David,
As per our talking points at our meeting, please find the
attached letter from Dr.Timothy Parsons Deputy State Historic
Preservation Officer with the Division of Historic Resources in
Tallahassee Florida. I've already introduced you in the event you wish
to call him and talk to him.
Mia, please put a copy of this attachment into the public
records folder.
I'm also taking to an academic and reputable archaeological
group about any
assistance they can offer us in the event we can do a proper
archaeological excavation of the subject property.
