Monday, March 12, 1275
The meeting of the Recreation Complex Committee was
called to order at 5:10 p.m. by Chairman, John Butler.
Members present: John Butler, Chairman, Harry Rhame,
Vice-Chairlaan, Nancy Hanson, Secretary, Elvin Allen,
Clifford Van Waggoner, Lamar Russell, Jesse Quatse,
Dan Keane, Bob Laws and. Silvio Mare.
Minutes fromthe previous meeting were read and approved.
A letter from John Allen of Allen Engineering, Inc.
dated March 10, 1975, listing engineering services and
rates, was read. (re: secretary's files) Chairman
Butler introduced John Allen who explained his duties
and:responsibilities as consulting engineer in regards
tothe complex. In addition to reiterating information
in his letter, he stated also that he would make ten
(10) sets of bid documents available to the committee
and he would deliver plans and specifications at the
time the committee deemed the project ready to go out
for bids.
John Butler again brought up the question of specialty
builders bidding an the project rather than having a
general contractor. A discussion followed with no
decision being made by the committee. It was requested
of John Allen that he make a recommendation on the best
method to contract the job when he meets again with
the committee.
Bob Laws stated that he had contacted the County
Beautification Coordinator and the Coordinator had
agreed to assist with a landscaping design for the
complex.
Elvin Allen made the motion to accept Allen Engineering,
Inc. as consulting engineering firm for the project.
Silvio Mare seconded the motion, passed unanimously.
Next meeting will be held at City Hall on Wednesday,
March 19, 1975 at 5 o'clock p.m.'.
Bob Laws moved that the meeting adjourn.
Meeting adjourned at 5:56 p.m.
