HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 1992-56RESOLUTION NO. 92 -56 A RESOLUTION RE= ESTABLISHING MINIMUM PERMIT FEES, PLAN CHECKING FEES, REINSPECTION FEES, AND FEE SCHEDULE FOR SITE PLANS AND REPLAT /SUBDIVISION OF LAND FOR THE CITY OF CAPE CANAVERAL FLORIDA; REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 91 -49; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Building and Development Fees established by Chapter. 547 of the Code or Ordinances of the City of Cape Canaveral, Florida, may be amended by .Resolution of the City Council; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that.the Building Permit Fee Schedule.should be revised; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Cape Canaveral, Florida, as follows: SECTION 1. The Building Permit Fees set forth Chapter 547:of -the Code of Ordinances are hereby repealed in the entirety and replaced with the following: A. BUILDING PERMIT AND MISCELLANEOUS FEES On all buildings, structures or alterations requiring a building permit, a fee set forth below shall be paid at the time the permit is issued. 1. Permit Fees Total Valuation $100 or less $101 to $2,000 $2,001 to $20,000 $20,001 to $100,000 $100,001 to $500,000 $500,001 and up Fee No fee, unless inspection required, in which case a $25.00 fee for each inspection shall be charged. $25.00 per thousand or fraction* thereof, to and including $2,000..00. $50.00 for the first $2,000 plus $5:'00 for each additional thousand or fraction thereof, to and including $20,000. $140.00 for the first $20,000 plus $4.00 per thousand or fraction thereof, to and including $100,000. $460.00 for the first $100,000 plus $3.00 per thousand or fraction thereof, to and including $500,000. $1,660 for the first $500,000 plus $2.00 per thousand or fraction thereof. ,City of Cape Canaveral, Florida Resolution No. 92 -56 Page 2 Total valuation for residential permit fees shall be based on a.value of $50.00 per square foot for all living areas -and $24.00 per square foot for garages, basements, carports and enclosed . patios and,porches as determined by an average of the evaluation data published by the Southern Building Code Congress (SBCCI). 'When construction valuation is required to det:ermine..the Permit fee, such valuation shall be based upon the actual construction contract price (with satisfactory evidence of same being submitted to the Building Official) or a construction cost estimate made by the Building Official, except as otherwise provided in Section A above. 2. Remodeling, Alterations, Additions, Repairs: Minimum Electrical Permit. . . . . $ 25.00 NOTE: Refer to Schedule. A on valuations in excess of $1,000 D. MECHANICAL In addition to any fee or fees charged in Section A above: Minimum Mechanical Permit . . . . $ 25.00 NOTE: ' Refer to Schedule A on valuations in excess of $1,000 When the valuation of the proposed construction exceeds $1,000.00 and a plan is required to be submitted, a plan- checking fee shall be paid at the time the permit is issued. Said plan- checking fee shall be equal to one -half the building permit fee. Such plan- checking fee shall be in addition to the building permit fee. When plans and specifications for construction are reviewed by the City Engineer, then the actual costs of such review shall be paid by the applicant, in addition to the Plan Checking Fee, whether a building permit is issued or not. The Building Official may require a deposit of estimated cost for engineering fees upon receipt of the application for a building permit. F. REINSPECTION FEES When extra inspection trips are necessary due to wrong address, second call on condemned work, additional work done after inspection has been made, or work not ready for inspection when called, a charge of twenty -five dollars ($25.00) shall be paid in advance for each additional inspection. G. SITE PLANS 1. Fee Schedule The fee schedule for Site Plan Review shall be: 1, 2 and.3 Residential Units . . . . $ 37.50 4 or more Residential Units . $ 50.00 plus $7.50 per unit,, not to exceed' $500 Commercial Structures Per acre of land or portion thereof. $150.00 Extension of Site Plan . . . . . . . $150.00 2. Resubmission Changes to originally approved site plans shall be charged at a rate equal to fifty percent (50 %) of the original fee. City of Cape Canaveral,. Fee Schedule The fee schedule for review of Replat /Subdivision of Land shall be: 1, 2 ors 3 lots . . . . . r $ 37.50 4 or more lots . . . . . . . $ 5"0.00 plus $7.50'per lot, not to exceed $500 2. Resubmission Changes to approved Replat /Subdivision of Land shall be charged at a rate equal to fifty percent (50 %) of the original fee. SECTION 2. All resolutions and parts of resolutions such as, but not limited to, Resolutions No: 87 -41 and No. 91 -49 (resolutions increasing building permit fees for the City of Cape Canaveral) inconsistent or conflicting with any part of this resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency or conflict. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately. upon its adoption. ADOPTED BY the City Council of the City of. Cape Canaveral, Brevard County, Florida, this 20th day of October , 1992.
