HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 1991-49RESOLUTION NO. 91- 49 A RESOLUTION RE- ESTABLISHING MINIMUM BUILDING PERMIT FEES FOR THE CITY OF CAPE CANAVERAL; FLORIDA, ADDING A FEE FOR SITE PLAN EXTENSIONS; REPEALING ANY PORTION OF RESOLUTION 87 -41 IN CONFLICT; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Building and Development' Fees established by Chapter 547 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Cape Canaveral, Florida, may be amended by Resolution of -the City Council; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that the Building Permit Fee Schedule should be revised; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by .the City Council of the City of Cape Canaveral, Florida, as follows: SECTION 1. The Building Permit Fees set forth in Chapter 547 of the Code of Ordinances are hereby repealed in the entirety and replaced with the following: A. BUILDING PERMIT AND MISCELLANEOUS FEES. On all buildings, structures or alterations requiring a building permit, a fee as set .forth below, shall be paid at the time of filing application: 1. New Construction: Total Valuation Fee $100 or less No fee, unless inspection required, in which case a $20.00 fee for each inspection shall be charged. $101 to $2,000 $20.00 per thousand or fraction thereof. $2,001 to $15,000 $15,001 to $50,000 $50,001 to $100,.000 $100,001 to $500,000 $40.00 for the .fi:rst $2, 000 plus $5 for each additional thousand or fraction thereof, to and in- cluding $15,000. $105- for the first $15,000 plus $4 for each additional thousand or fraction thereof, to and in- cluding $50,000. $245 for the first $50, 000 plus $3 for each additional thousand or fraction thereof, to and in- cluding $100,00. $395.00 for .the first $100,000 plus $2.,00 for each additional thousand or fraction thereof, to and including $500,000. $500,00 and up $1,195 for the first $500,000 plus $1.50 for each thousand or fraction thereof. Total valuation for residential permit fees shall be based on a value of $45.00 per square foot for all living areas and $21.00 RESOLUTION NO:. 91. -49 PAGE ONE OF "FIVE 'PAGES per square foot for garages, basements, carports and enclosed patios and..porches When :.construction valuation, is required to determine the permit fee,- such - valuation shall be based upon the actual construction 'contract price (with satisfactory evidence- of same- being submitted to the Building Official) or a construction cost, estimate made by the .Building Official, except as 'otherwise provided in section (`A) above. 2. Remodeling, Alterations, Additions, Repairs: In proportion'to area of building and extent of. inspection required., provided the fee shall not exceed one -half of the regular fee for new construction of like classification: Per $1,000 Valuation .....................$20.00 Minimum Fee .... ........................ ..... $20.00 3. Fifty - percent (50%) of the building fee for'. checking; plans'.of over $5;000 valuation. When plans and specifications. for construction are reviewed by the City Engineer, then the actual, costs of such review shall be paid by the applicant, in addition to the Plan Checking Fee, whether a building permit is issued or not. The Building Official may require a deposit of estimated cost for Engineer's fees upon receipt of application for building permit. F.' REINSPECTION FEES. When extra inspection trips are necessary.-due to wrong address,, second call on condemned work; additional work done after inspection has been made, or work not ready. for inspection when called, a charge of ten dollars ($10.00) shall "be made for each trip. G. SITE PLANS. 1. Fee Schedule. The fee schedule for Site Plan Review shall be: 1, 2 & 3 Residential Units ....................$ 25.00 4 or more Residential Units... $25.00 plus $5.00 per unit, not to exceed $500.00. Commercial Structures Per Acre of land or portion thereof .......... $100.00 Extension of Site Plan.......:..... ...... -. $100.00 2. Resubmission. Changes to originally approved site plans shall be charged at a rate equal to fifty percent- (50 %') of the original fee. H. REPLAT/SUBDIVISION OF LAND. 1. Fee' Schedule. The fee schedule for review of Replat /Subdivision of land shall be: $25.00 for first three lots, plus $5.00 each additional lot, not to exceed $500.00.. 2.: Resubmission. Changes to originally approved Replat /Subdivision of; Land shall be charged at A. rate equal to fifty percent (50%) of the original fee. RESOLUTION NO. 91 -49 PAGE FOUR OF'FIVE PAGES SECTION 2. All resolutions and parts of resolutions such as but not limited to Resolution 87 -41 (a resolution increasing building permit fees for the City of Cape Canaveral) inconsistent or conflicting with any part of this resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency or conflict. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption. ADOPTED BY the City Council for the City of Cape Canaveral, Florida, this 7th day of November , 1991.
