HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 1991-19RESOLUTION NO. 91 -19 A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A NEW SCHED- ULE OF RATES FOR GARBAGE AND TRASH COLLECTION WITHIN THE CITY OF CAPE CANAVERAL, FLORIDA; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Section 673.11 of the City Code provides for the establishment of a rate schedule for garbage and trash removal; and WHEREAS, there is an agreement between the City of Cape Canaveral, Florida, and Western Waste Industries, Inc., dated September 19, 1989, which provides for reconsideration of the schedule of charges based upon the adjustments and any change in the Consumer Price Index to a maximum of ten percent (10 %); and WHEREAS, the Consumer Price Index for the previous year has changed and increased overall by 4 %; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Cape Canaveral, Brevard County, Florida, as follows: SECTION 1. The Rate Schedule in Resolution No. 90 -29 is hereby rescinded, and the following rate schedule is established: a. Single family, duplex and triplex $ 7.76 per unit per month b. Mobile home units and individual 5.24 per unit apartments or condominiums per month C. Individual commercial business 9.44 per unit accounts with trash cans per month d. Commercial dumpsters used by 23.49 per contain - commercial business, apartment erized yard complexes and condominiums per month e. Special collection services - in 3.35 per contain - addition to the normally provided twice erized yard weekly service for commercial dumpsters per pick -up as provided in paragraph "d" above f. Recycling Service 1.90 per dwelling unit per month g. Roll -Off Container Service (to be billed and collected by Western Waste Industries, Inc.) 1. Container delivery 2. Actual disposal cost shall be added to the pull charge plus 20 %. 4. Container rental shall not be charged for a container pulled three (3) or more times per month. For those pulled less than three (3) times, the rent shall not exceed $50.00 per month. 5. Dry runs (responding to customer's request but not being able to pull container) will be charged the same as the delivery rate. SECTION 2. An eighty -five cent (85¢) processing charge shall be added for each bill each month by the City of Cape Canaveral to cover the cost of handling and mailing the bills. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall become effective com- mencing with the June 1, 1991 billing, which covers May services.
