HomeMy WebLinkAbout02-15-1972 Board of Adjustment MeetingI, MICROFILM 4 -24 -80 BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT February 15, 1972 The Board of Adjustment of the City of Cape Canaveral met on February 15, 1972 at the City Hall, 105 Polk Avenue, Cape Canaveral Florida at 8:21 P.M. The meeting was called to order by Mayor George Firkins, Jr. Roll was called by the City Clerk. Officials present were Mayor George Firkins; Councilmen Roger Graefe, Leo Nicholas, E. H. Rhame and G. J. Salvaggio; City Manager A. J. Francis; City Attorney Stanley Wolfman; City Clerk Anita Ostrom and Sgt. at Arms Willard Winnett. Also present was Frank Martin, Zoning Board Chairman. Item 1. Request 72 -3 - Variance request by Pamela Wright Mayor Firkins reviewed the request for variance re: set back in rear yard, and the recommendation of the Zoning and Planning Board for denial. Mr. Nicholas moved to accept the recommendation of the Zoning and Planning Board and deny the request. Mr. Rhame seconded the motion. Present were Mr. Paul Knittel and Mr. Robert Matschner, neighbors of the applicant. Both spoke in favor of the request, stating they did not feel that the porch in question was a detraction to the neighborhood, and many such violations already existed. It was pointed out that the request was not in compliance with the Zoning Ordinance and no hardship was shown, as required for a variance. Vote on the motion to disapprove was unanimous and the request denied. By motion of Mr. Salvaggio, seconded by Mr. Nicholas the meeting was adjourned at 8:46 P.M.
