HomeMy WebLinkAbout08-17-1971 Board of Adjustment MeetingMICROFILMED 4 -24 -80 BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT August 17, 1971 The Board of Adjustment of the City of Cape Canaveral met on August 17, 1971 at the City Hall, 105 Polk Avenue, Cape Canaveral, Florida at 9:18 P.M. The meeting was called to order by Mayor George H. Firkins,Jr. The roll was called by the City Clerk. Officials present were Mayor Firkins; Councilmen Roger Graefe, Leo Nicholas and E. H. Rhame; City Manager A. J. Francis; City Attorney Stanley Wolfman; City Clerk Anita Ostrom and Sgt. at Arms Officer Ford. Item 1. Request for Variance from setbacks and to build single family dwelling on 50 ft. lot (Ernestine Butte, Agent) Mayor Firkins read a letter from the Florida Department of Resources regarding regulations on Beach development. He also reviewed the petition and the recommendation of the Zoning and Planning Board which was for denial of the request. Mr. Barry, who is to be the builder of the residence, was in attendance to answer questions for the Board. After discussion, Mr. Nicholas moved to grant the request with the stipulation that construction take place 'in accord with the plot plan and house layout as presented and construction to begin within three months. Mr. Graefe seconded the motion. Mr. Rhame moved to amend the motion by adding that the required completion date be within twelve months. Mr. Nicholas seconded and the amendment carried by unanimous vote. Vote on the motion as amended was as follows: Mr. Nicholas, Mr. Graefe and Mayor Firkins voted in favor; Mr. Rhame opposed. The motion carried. By motion of Mr. Nicholas, seconded by Mr. Rhame, the meeting was adjourned at 10:00 P.M. APPROVED this 7th da
