BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
January 19, 1971

The Board of Adjustment of the City of Cape Canaveral met
on January 19, 1971 at the City Hall, 105 Polk Avenue, Cape Canaveral,
Florida at 8:51 P.M.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Leo C. Nicholas.
The roll was called by the City Clerk. Officials present were
Mayor Nicholas; Councilmen George Firkins, E. H. Rhame, G. J. Salvaggio,
and Richard R. Thurm; City Manager A. J. Francis; City Attorney Stanley
Wolfman; City Clerk Anita Ostrom and Sgt. at Arms Willard Winnett'.
The minutes of the meeting of January 5, 1971 were read by
the Clerk and approved as read.
Item 1. Special exception and Variance request by Col. E.
Manierre.
Mayor Nicholas examined the petition and read the recommendation
of the Planning & Zoning Board. Col. Manierre was in attendance to
explain his request. After discussion, it was agreed that the Board
would act on the special exception portion of the request only and
Col. Manierre agreed to furnish the City with a letter changing the
location from lot 5, to lots 11, 12, and 13, Block 68. Mr. Rhame
stated that the City should be careful of setting a president for
future less desireable buildings on the Beach area.
Mr. Salvaggio moved to grant the special exception to move into
the City the pre - assembled building, as requested; to be placed on
lots 11,12, and 13, Block 68, contingent upon meeting building and
Zoning requirements. Mr. Firkins seconded the motion. Mr. Salvaggio,
Ar. Firkins and the chair voted in favor; Mr. Rhame and Mr. Thurm
were opposed. The motion carried.
By motion of Mr. Rhame, the meeting was adjourned at 9:17 P.M.
APPROVED this 2nd day of February 1971.
