A Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Cape
Canaveral was held on January 5, 1971 at the City Hall, 105 Polk
Avenue, Cape Canaveral, Florida at 7:35 P.M.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Leo C. Nicholas.
The roll was called by the City Clerk. Officials present were
Mayor Nicholas; Councilmen George Firkins, E. H. Rhame, G. J.
S.alvaggio and Richard Thurm; City Manager A. J. Francis; City
Attorney Stanley Wolfman; City Clerk Anita Ostrom and Sgt. at Arms
Officer Patrick.
The minutes of the meeting of December 15, 1970 were approved
as read by the Clerk.
Item 1. Resolution 70 -43 - Erosion Control Funds
Mayor Nicholas read the resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION
OF THE CITY OF CAPE CANAVERAL, FLORIDA, REQUESTING THE RELEASE OF
CERTAIN FUNDS HELD BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES TO BE
USED FOR ENGINEERING WORK IN CONNECTION WITH EROSION CONTROL IN
BREVARD COUNTY,
By motion of Mr. Thurm, seconded by Mr. Rhame and unanimous
vote of the Council, the resolution was adopted.
Item 2. Resolution 70 -44 - Quarterly Budget Revision
This item was tabled to the next regular meeting by motion
of Mr. Firkins, seconded by Mr. Salvaggio and unanimous vote of
Council.
Mr. Robert W. Freeman, Jr., of Port Canaveral Trailer Park,
asked Council to approve a home occupation license for sewing.
Mr. Rhame moved to add an item to the agenda. Mr. Salvaggio
seconded. Mr. Rhame moved to name the item "Request for approval
of Home Occupation License." Mr. Thurm seconded. The vote was
unanimous in favor of both motions.
Item 3. Request for approval of Home Occupation License.
The definition and conditions of a home occupation as outlined
in the City Zoning Ordinance was read to Mr. Freeman, and he assured
Council that his operation would be in conformity with requirements.
Mr. Salvaggio moved to approve the request, Mr. Rhame seconded and
the motion carried by unanimous vote.

Mayor Nicholas read announcements from the Brevard League
of Municipalities and NASA.
By motion of Mr. Salvaggio, seconded by Mr. Firkins and
unanimous vote, the meeting was adjourned at 8:15 P.M.
