HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-15-1970 Regular Meeting_r r MICROFILMED 4 -24 -80 REGULAR MEETING CITY COUNCIL September 15, 1970 A Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Cape Canaveral was held on September 15, 1970 at the City Hall, 105 Polk Avenue, Cape Canaveral, Florida at 7:35 P.M. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Nicholas. The roll was called by the City Clerk. Officials present were Mayor Leo C. Nicholas; Councilmen George Firkins, G. J. Salvaggio and Richard R. Thurm; City Manager A. J. Francis; City Attorney Stanley Wolfman; City Clerk Anita Ostrom and Sgt. at Arms Officer Carver. The minutes of the Regular meeting of September 1, 1970 were read by the Clerk and approved as read. submitted. The Treasury Report for August, 1970 was approved as Item 1. Approval for payment of funds from Renewal & replacement funds. Mr. Salvaggio moved to approve this payment in the amount of $507.87. Mr. Firkins .seconded and the motion carried by unanimous vote of the Council. Item 2. Resolution 70 -31 - Authorizing Fire Fighting Agree- ment with Port Authority. Upon the recommendation of the City Attorney, Mr. Thurm moved to table this item, Mr. Salvaggio seconded and the motion carried by unanimous vote. Item 3. Resolution 70 -32 - Participation in Library Coordinator rogram By motion of Mr. Salvaggio, seconded by Mr. Firkins and unanimous vote of the Council, this item was tabled for further study. Item 4. Ordinance 7 -70 Mayor Nicholas read the AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 81 -64, AS ADDING A NEW PARAGRAPH REGULATING CAMPING EQUIPMENT WITHIN THE CITY EFFECTIVE DATE." - Amendment to Ordinance 81 -64 re: Camper Trailers 1st reading ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE k.MENDED, BY AMENDING ARTICLE VI BY THE LOCATION OF RECREATIONAL AND OF CAPE CANAVERAL; PROVIDING AN Mr. Salvaggio moved to approve first reading of the ordinanc.e, Mr. Firkins seconded and by unanimous vote the motion carried. i PAGE 1 OFD° y � n MICROFILMED 4 -24 -80 Mr. Salvaggio moved to add item 5 to the agenda regarding purchase of 16 lots for recreation. Mr. Firkins seconded. The City Attorney stated that this action was unnecessary.as the application* = pxYchas@ =bad been approved and preliminary steps taken. Mr. Salvaggio and Mr. Firkins withdrew their motion. Mayor Nicholas read a letter from the Department of Housing & Urban Development confirming participation with the City in the purchase of the recreation land. By motion of Mr. Salvaggio, seconded by Mr. Thurm and unanimous agreement of the Council, the meeting was adjourned at 9:15 P.M.
