REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING
June 20, 1967
The Council of the City of Cape Canaveral, Florida, met
in regular session on June 20, 1967, at City Hall, 105 Polk
Avenue, Cape Canaveral, Florida, at 7:45 P.M.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Richard R. Thurm.
Rev. Ralph A. Weinrich of Christ Lutheran Church gave the
invocation.
The roll was called by Dee Devlin. Members present were
Mayor Richard R. Thurm; Councilmen Frank Hoog, Paul Knittel, and
G. J. Salvaggio; City Manager - City Clerk Joseph A. Rickardsi
City Attorney T. David Burns; and Sgt. at Arms Willard Winnett.
Councilman Vincent Lindemann was absent.
The minutes of the regular meeting of June 6, 1967, were
read by Dee Devlin. There being no corrections or additions,
the minutes were approved as read.
OLD BUSINESS:
Item lg Resolution No. 67 -29,
Mayor Thurm read the resolution entitled, "A RESOLUTION
ANNEXING CERTAIN PROPERTY INTO THE CITY OF CAPE CANAVERAL,
FLORIDA: ESTABLISHING ZONING OF SAID PROPERTY; PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE!'. Mr. Hoog made a motion to adopt the resolution,
Mr. Salvaggio seconded the motion, and the motion carried
unanimously.
Item 2$ Ordinance No. 4 -67 (second readina).
Mayor Thurm read the ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE
ADOPTING THE SOUTHERN STANDARD HOUSING CODE AS THE HOUSING
CODE FOR THE CITY OF CAPE CANAVERAL, FLORIDA; PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE ". Mr. Knittel made a motion to adopt the
ordinance, Mr. Salvaggio seconded the motion, and the motion
carried unanimously.

Item 3., Ordinance - Second Readina - M -3 Zoning,
Mr. Hoog made a motion to table this item until the next
regular meeting, Mr. Knittel seconded the motion, and the
motion carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS:
Item 1. Installation.
Judge William C. Pierce of the District Court of Appeals
administered the oath to Frank Hoog, G. J. Salvaggio, and
Richard Thurm for their terms as Councilmen.
Items Z and 3. Resolution No. 67 -30.
Mayor Thurm read the resolution entitled, "A RESOLUTION
ELECTING A MAYOR AND MAYOR PRO TEM OF THE CITY OF CAPE
CANAVERAL, FLORIDA; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE ". Mr. Salvaggio
made a motion to adopt the resolution, Mr. Knittel seconded the
motion, and the motion carried unanimously. Judge Pierce then
administered the 'bath to Mayor Richard Thurm and Mayor Pro Tem
Frank Hoog.
Item 4. Resolution No. 67 -31.
Mayor Thurm read the resolution entitled, " A RESOLUTION
APPOINTING CITY OFFICERS AND OFFICIALS; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE ". Mr. Salvaggio made a motion to adopt the resolution,
Mr. Knittel seconded the motion, and the motion carried
unanimously.
Item 5. Resolution No. 67 -32.
Mayor Thurm read the resolution entitled, "A RESOLUTION
DESIGNATING AREAS OF DIRECT INTEREST OF INDIVIDUAL COUNCILMEN;
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE ". Mr. Salvaggio made a motion to
adopt the resolution, Mr. Hoog seconded the motion, and the-
motion carried unanimously.

Upon completion of the agenda items, a brief.discussion
period was held.
Mr. Salvaggio made a motion to adjourn, Mr. Hoog seconded
the motion, and the meeting was adjourned at 8:55 P.M.
