HomeMy WebLinkAbout05-17-1966 Regular MeetingMICROFILMED 4 -24 -80 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING May 17, 1966 The City Council of the City of Cape Canaveral met in Regular Session at the City Hall at 7:30 P.M. on the 17th day of May, 1966. The Meeting was called to Order by Mayor Thurm and the roll was called by the Clerk. Officials present were Mayor Richard Thurm; Councilmen Leo Collins, Frank Hoog, Jack Hurck and Martin Schrider; City Manager J. A. Rickards; City Attorney T. David Burns; City Clerk Donna J. Anderson and a Sgt. at Arms. The Minutes of the Special Meeting of May 5, 1966, the Minutes of the Special Meeting of May 10 and the Meeting of the Board of Adjustment of May 10, 1966 were read by the Clerk and with no additions or corrections were approved as read. The Treasury Report was approved as submitted. OLD BUSINESS Item 1. Gas Ordinance #12- 66,(2nd and Final Reading) On a Motion by Mr. Collins, seconded by Mr. Hoog and carried unanimously, the Item was tabled. Gas Ordinance #13 -66 (1st Reading) Mayor Thurm gave first Reading in full to Ordinance #13 -66. On a Motion by Mr. Collins, seconded by Mr. Hoog and carried unanimously, the first reading of the Ord- inance was approved. Item 2. Elc ion =0. = Ordinance #32 -6 Mayor Thurm read AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE #32 -65 KNOWN AS THE ELECTION CODE OF THE CITY OF CAPE CANAVERAL, BY INCREASING THE NUMBER OF ELECTION INSPECTORS FROM FOUR TO SEVEN; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. On a Motion by Mr. Collins, seconded by Mr. Hurck and carried unanimously, the Ordinance was adopted. -, • - MICROFILMED 4 -24 -80 Regular Council Meeting - May 17, 1966 Page Two NEW BUSINESS Item 1. Resolution Appoin t Members -23. Election Board Mayor Thurm read the Resolution and on a Motion by Mr. Schrider, seconded by Mr. Hurck and carried unanimously, the Resolution was adopted. On a Motion by Mr. Collins, seconded by Mr. Hoog and carried unanimously, an Add -on Item, "A Resolution Encouraging Mosquito Control" was placed on the Agenda. Item 2. Resolution Encouraging Mosquito Control. The Resolution was read by Mr. Collins. On a Motion by Mr. Collins, seconded by Mr. Schrider and carried unanimously, the Resolution was adopted. Mr. Schrider made a Motion to set a Special Meeting of the City Council on May 23, 1966 at 7:30 P.M. Mr. Collins seconded the Motion and it carried unanimously. There being no other business before the Council, the Meeting was adjourned on a Motion by Mr. Hurck, seconded by Mr. Hoog and carried unanimously. Approved this 7th day of June, 1966.
