HomeMy WebLinkAbout03-01-1966 Regular MeetingMICROFILMED 4 -24 -80 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING March 1, 1966 The City Council of the City of Cape Canaveral, met in Regular Session at the City Hall, 105 Polk Avenue at 7:30 P.M. the 1st day of March, 1966. The Meeting was called to Order by Mayor Thurm and the roll was called by the Clerk: Officials. present were Mayor Richard Thurm; Councilmen Leo Collins, Frank Hoog, Jack Hurck and Martin Schrider; City Manager J. A. Rickards; City Attorney T. David Burns and City Clerk Donna J. Anderson. The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of February 15, 1966 were read by the Clerk and with no additions or corrections were approved as read. OLD BUSINESS Item 1. Ordinance Amending Ordinance #32 -65 ByProv Location of Polls _t2nd and Final R tiding Mayor Thurm gave 2nd and Final Reading to Ordinance #32 -65 -A. On a Motion by Mr. Hurck, seconded by Mr. Schrider and carried unanimously, the Ordinance was adopted. NEW BUSINESS Item 1. Ordinance - Re: Regulation and Control of Certain Bvi -I m n I'�a n cry 'I v a o r �r� T� rrtr -( -1 c. i- 'R o� r7 4 r rn On a Motion by Mr. Hoog, seconded by Mr. Schrider, .. the Item was tabled until the next regular or special meet- ing with Mr. Hoog, Mr. S.chrider and Mr. Collins voting in favor of the Motion and Mr. Hurck opposing. Mr. Hurck suggested the next regular meeting. Item„2.. Ordinance - Re: Juveniles and Parental Responsibili by Prescribing CUrfew Hours (1st Reading) Mayor Thurm gave lst reading to Ordinance #8 -66. Mr. Collins made a Motion to approve 1st Reading. Mr. Hoog seconded the Motion. After discussion, the 1st reading of the Ordinance was approved with Mr. Hoog, Mr. Schrider and Mr. Collins voting in favor and Mr. Hurck abstaining. PAGE. 1 0 F 4 MICROFILMED 4 -24 -80 Item 3. Ordinance - Pornographic Literature (1st Reading) Mayor Thurm gave lst reading to Ordinance #9 -66. Mr. Collins made a Motion to approve lst Reading. Mr. Hoog seconded the Motion. After discussion, the lst Reading of the Ordinance was approved with Mr. Hoog, Mr. Schrider and Mr. Collins voting in favor and Mr. Hurck abstaining. Item 4. Ordinance Amendin Ordinance #81 -64 By Provid Issuance o Certificates or oning se Complian ce As Condition Precedent To Issuance of Building Permit is Rea inR On a Motion by Mr. Hurck, seconded by Mr. Collins and carried unanimously, the Item was tabled until the next regular meeting. Item 5. Ordinance - Re: Plumbing Code On a Motion by Jack Hurck, seconded by Mr. Collins, the Item was tabled until the next regular meeting. After discussion, Mr. Collins withdrew his second, Mr. Hurck withdrew his Motion and made a new Motion that the Item be considered at a Special Meeting on March 3, 1966. Mr. Collins seconded the Motion and it carried unanimously. The Monthly Progress Report on the City Sewerage Pro- ject was given by City Engineer, Tom Strang. On a Motion by Mr. Hoog, seconded -,by Mr. Hurck and carried unanimously the report was favorably accepted. There being no other business before the Council, the meeting was adjourned on a Motion by Mr. Hoog, seconded by Mr. Hurck and carried unanimously. Approved this 15th day of March, 1966.
