RESOLUTION NO. 83 -31
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND THE
CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO AN AMENDMENT TO AN
AGREEMENT WITH THE BREVARD COUNTY SHERIFF'S
DEPARTMENT TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL MUNICIPAL
POLICE SERVICES TO THE CITY OF CAPE CANAVERAL,
FLORIDA; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the previous amendment to the Sheriff's contract
is untenable,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the
City of Cape Canaveral, Florida, as follows:
SECTION 1. The Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized
to execute an amendment to the agreement with the Sheriff of
Brevard County, Florida. A copy of said agreement is attached
hereto and made a part hereof by reference.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately
upon its adoption.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Cape Canaveral, Florida
this 17 day of May , 1983.

AMENDMENT TO SHERIFF'S CONTRACT
This amendment to the contract dated September 24, 1982,
by and between the City of Cape Canaveral, Florida, a municipal
corporation, hereinafter referred to as "City ", and the Sheriff
of Brevard County, hereinafter referred to as "Sheriff ":
It is hereby agreed as follows:
SECTION 1. The City shall purchase additional services
from the Sheriff as defined below for the sum of $7,000.00
SECTION 2. SERVICES There shall be an additional deputy
to serve an eight hour night shift in the evenings five nights a
week.
The particular hours shall be determined by the City Manager
and the Captain of the Central Precinct based upon the advice and
recommendations of the City Council and the Sheriff.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have hereunto set
