EMERGENCY ORDINANCE NO. 7 -77
AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR A SPECIAL
REFERENDUM ELECTION PROPOSING THE RETENTION
OF A ONE MILL AD VALOREM TAX FOR THE PURPOSE OF PURCHASING
LOTS 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 & 14, BLOCK 46, AVON -BY -THE -SEA,
PLAT BOOK 3, PAGE 46, PUBLIC RECORDS OF BREVARD
COUNTY, FLORIDA; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DAM.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Cape Canaveral,
Florida, as follows:
SECTION 1. There shall be submitted to the voters of the City of
Cape Canaveral, Florida, at the regular City election which is to be held in
and for the City on the 7th day of June, 1977, the following proposition:
Shall the City of Cape Canaveral, Florida retain and levy an
ad valorem tax of one mill on all taxable property located
within the City of Cape Canaveral, Florida, for the taxable
years of 1977, 1978 and 1979, for the purpose of purchasing
Lots 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 & 14, Block 46, Avon -By- The -Sea,
according to the plat thereof as recorded in Plat Book 3, Page
46, Public Records of Brevard County, Florida (commonly
known as the Ben -Kori Building, 7400 Block, North Atlantic
Avenue, Cape Canaveral, Florida) at a purchase price of
$145, 000.00, to be paid over three years by said ad valorem
tax of one mill?
SECTION 2. Notice of said election shall be published not less
than thirty (30) days prior to the date of said election, in a newspaper of
general circulation in the City and published in Brevard County, Florida.
Said publication shall be made once a week for four (4) consecutive weeks
during the thirty (30) day period. The Notice shall be in substantially the
following form:

"NOTICE OF SPECIAL REFERENDUM ELECTION
CITY OF CAPE CANAVERAL, FLORIDA
Public notice is hereby given that on the 7th day of June, 1977,
the following proposition shall be submitted to the voters of
Cape Canaveral, Florida, at a special referendum election
which will be held in the City of Cape Canaveral, Florida:
Shall the City of Cape Canaveral, Florida, retain
and levy an ad valorem tax of one mill on all taxable
property located within the City of Cape Canaveral,
Florida, for the taxable years of 1977, 1978 and 1979,
for the purpose of purchasing Lots 9, 10, 11, 12, 13
and 14, Block 46, Avon -By- The -Sea, according to the
plat thereof as recorded in Plat Book 3, Page 46, Public
Records of Brevard County, Florida (commonly known
as the Ben -Kori Building, 7400 Block, North Atlantic
Avenue, Cape Canaveral, Florida) at a purchase price not to exceed
a == $145, 000.00 to be paid over three years by said ad
valorem tax of one mill?
The polling place and precinct for such election shall be Precinct
13, located at 190 Jackson Avenue, Cape Canaveral, Florida.
The polls shall be open from 7:00 o'clock a. m. to 7:00 o'clock
p. m. , Eastern Daylight Saving Time.
Published by order of the City Council.

SECTION 3. This emergency ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.
