A RESOLUTION CIASING A POR'T'ION 01'
JACKSON AVENUE BETWEEN ORANGE
AVENUE AND MAGNOLIA AVENUI -;
PROVIDING AN EFI- ECTIVE DATI?.
WHEREAS, the City of Cape Canaveral has purchased
a parcel of land under the U. S. Government's Open Space Land
Acquisition Program to he used for recreational purposes; and
11'11EREAS, this newly acquired land is contiguous to
the present city recreation area but divided by a portion of
Jackson Avenue; and
%VIIEREAS, closing the portion of Jackson Avenue
benveen Orange Avenue and Magnolia Avenue will provide more
space for a recreational area and the overall plan previously
approved provides for lice closing of tills street portion; :and
WHEIREAS, it is in the best Interests of the Ciry of
Cape Canaveral to close this portion of said street.
NOW THEREFORE, Ik It Resolved by the City Council
of the City of Cape Canaveral, Florida, the following:
SECTION L llnat portion of Jackson Avenue bctttvccn
Orange Avenue and Magnolia Avenue in the City of Cape Canaveral
shall be closed in order that a recreational area nnay he completed
as planned under the U. S. Government's Open Space Land
Acquisition Program.
SECTION 2. It is expressly provided that this portion
of Jackson AVCnlle Is not being vacated or abandoned by the City,
but is nncrely being closed.
SEC'T'ION 3. 'Ilnis Resolution shall become effective
inunediately upon its adoption by the City Council of the City of
Cape Canaveral, Florida.
