RESOLUTION NO. 73-2
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF CAPE CANAVERAL,
FLORIDA, TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE UNITED
STATES OF AMERICA, DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN
DEVELOPMENT, FOR A GRANT TO ACQUIRE AND/OR DEVELOP
LAND FOR OPEN-SPACE PURPOSES UNDER TITLE VII OF THE
HOUSING ACT OF 1961, AS AMENDED; PROVIDING AN EFFECT-
IVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Cape Canaveral, Florida, wishes to
develop land previously obtained under the Open-Space Program to include a
full-sized baseball diamond, bleachers, lights, tennis court, football field,
tot lot, horseshoe and shuffleboard facilities, parking, benches, walkways
and landscaping; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Housing and Urban Development
has agreed to make a grant to the City of Cape Canaveral of fifty per cent
(50%) of the project costs; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary for the City of Cape Canaveral to
execute a Contract with the Department of Housing and Urban Development to
effect said grant;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF CAPE CANAVERAL, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor and City Clerk be and they are
hereby authorized to execute a Contract on behalf of the City of Cape Canaveral
with the United States of America, Department of Housing and Urban Develop-
ment, for a grant to acquire and/or develop land for open-space purposes under
Title VII of the Housing Act of 1961, as amended.
SECTION 2, A copy of said Contract shall be hereto attached
and made part of this Resolution.
SECTION 3. All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.

SECTION 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately
upon its adoption by the City of Cape Canaveral, Florida.
