RESOLUTION NO. 73-3
A RESOLUTION OF COMMENDATION TO CAPE CANAVERAL
POLICE OFFICERS RONALD HILL AND JESSE CARVER.
WHEREAS, on January 25, 1973, Sergeant Ronald Hill and
Patrolman Jesse Carver of the Cape Canaveral Police Department responded .,
to a drowning incident; and
WHEREAS, due to their skillful and efficient lifesaving
techniques, they were able to save the life of a drowning victim even though
all visible and physical signs of life were absent from the victim; and
WHEREAS, without the efforts of these two police officers
the individual would not be alive today;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Cape Canaveral, Florida, as follows:
SECTION 1. That Sergeant Ronald Hill and Patrolman Jesse
Carver of the Cape Canaveral Police Department are hereby commended by
the City Council for their courageous and skillful efforts in saving the life of
a drowning victim on January 25, 1973, and on behalf of the entire City of
Cape Canaveral, the City Council wishes to congratulate these two police
officers for their outstanding and dedicated service.
SECTION 2. The City also wishes to commend Mr. Ernest
Lee Anderson of 1315 1/2 Clay Street, Winter Park, Florida, for his quick
thinking and removing the victim's body from the surf, and seeing to it that
the Cape Canaveral Police Department was alerted.
