A RESOLUTION URGING BFACIIFRONX I'll OPERTY OWNERS
TO EXECUTE ALL NECESSARY EASEMENTS AND OTHER
DOCUMENTS TO ENABLE THE 13PACI1 EROSION CONTROL
PROJECT OF BREVARD COUNTY TO GET UNDERWAY TO
HELP PREVENT FURTHER EROSION AND DESTRUCTION
OF THE NATURAL BEACHES WITHIN THE CiTY Oh CAPE
CANAVERAL, FLORIDA; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE,
WHEREAS, the Beach Erosion Control Project of Brevard
County, Florida, has been established for the purpose of restoring the
beaches in the Cape Canaveral area, by the transfer of sand from the
Trident Submarine Project; and
WHEREAS, it is essential that the property owners along
the beachfront area execute certain casements and other documents to the
appropriate governmental units, to allow said governmental [nits temporary
access and use of said properties; and
WHEREAS, the recent high waves and erratic and unpredict-
able winds have caused dramatic and permanent damage to the public ocean
beaches within the City of Cape Canaveral; and
WHEREAS, a state of emergency exists regarding this
natural disaster and no other solution, temporary or permanent, is at hand;
and
WHEREAS, the Beach Erosion Control Project of Brevard
County is the only project which may be able to control In part the drastic
erosion of the natural beaches in the City of Cape Canaveral;
NOW, THEREFORE, IIE IT RESOLVED 13Y THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY 01' CAPE CANAVERAL, AS FOLLOWS:
SUCTION 1. All of the property owners of heachfront
properties within the City of Cape Canaveral, Florida and surrounding
areas are hereby urged by the Cite Council of the City of Cape Canaveral.
Florida, to execute all easements and other documents to the appropriate
governmental unit, which may be needed to allow said governmental units
temporary access and use of these properties, for the purpose of the

SECTION 2. In order that all of the affected property owners
of the beachfront properties in question may be made aware of the
emergency situation which now exists, the City Clerk is hereby directed
to provide said property owners with a copy of this Resolution.
0 SECTION 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately
upon its adoption by the City of Cape Canaveral, Florida.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Cape Canaveral,
Florida, this 6TH day of November, 1973.
