RESOLUTION NO. 74-5
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE BREVARD COUNTY,
FLORIDA SUPERVISOR OF ELECTIONS TO APPOINT TWO
CITY OF CAPE CANAVERAL EMPLOYEES AS DEPUTY
SUPERVISORS FOR THE PURPOSE OF REGISTERING
VOTERS AT THE CAPE CANAVERAL CITY HALL UNDER
THE PERMANENT SINGLE REGISTRATION SYSTEM;
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
[-] WHEREAS, Section 98.272 of the Florida Statutes provides that
the Supervisor of Elections in each county be authorized toselect and
appoint Deputy Supervisors as may be necessary; and
WHEREAS,- under the permanent single registration system, a
Brevard County Supervisor Of Elections registers all voters within the
County for all elections, including municipal elections; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Cape Canaveral ddems
it in the best interest of the City that voters be able to register within the
City of Cape Canaveral;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY Of CAPE CANAVERAL, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the Brevard County, Florida Supervisor of
Elections is hereby requested to.select and appoint two City of Cape
Canaveral employees as Deputy Supervisors of Elections for the purpose of
registering voters at the Cape Canaveral City Hall, in accordance with
Chapter 98.271, Florida Statutes.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately
upon its adoption by the City of Cape Canaveral, Florida.
