RESOLUTION NO, 76-32
A RESOLUTION ELECTING A SUCCESSOR COUNCILMAN
TO SERVE FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE TERM OF
OFFICE OF LEO C. NICHOLAS; PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.

WHEREAS, a vacancy exists on the City Council of
the City of Cape Canaveral, Florida, due to the resignation of
Councilman Leo C. Nicholas in conformance with Florida Statute
[I/
99. 012 (2) ; and
WHEREAS, Councilman Nicholas was to serve as Councilman
of the City of Cape Canaveral until June, 1978; and
WHEREAS, Section 4 of Article IV of the Charter of
the City of Cape Canaveral, Florida requires that the City Council
elect a successor Councilman who shall serve the remainder of the
term of office, in the event of a vacancy; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the qualifications
of the candidates for said office;

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE

CITY OF CAPE CANAVERAL AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Johnson L. Murphy, Jr. is hereby
elected as successor Councilman, who shall serve for the remainder
of the term of office of Councilman Leo C. Nicholas.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall become effective immed-
iately upon its adoption by the City Council of the City of Cape
Canaveral, Florida.
