Chairperson John Dattilo called the meeting to order at 5:0 l pm at the City Hall
Annex.
Hank Dinenno made motion to approve the September 24, 2007 minutes as written,
Chris Hale seconded and motion was unanimously approved by all members present.
Director Robert Lefever had no budget news.
Director Robert Lefever presented the Recreation Department Report which
included:
1. Adult Flag Football League started its' second season with 8 teams.
2. Adult Co-ed Softball League completed its' third season. Fall league has 6
teams already signed up.
3. Youth Center numbers down a bit with the start of school.
4. Space Coast Little League has begun practice for Fall Ball Season.
5. Recreation Center activity up from summer. Fall Tennis & Racquetball
Leagues forming. Special Activity Instructor Programs remain strong.
6. Canaveral City Park playground project continues on schedule. Cape
Canaveral Fire Chief endorsed the use of wood fiber chips for playground
surface.Concret walkways & playground equipment scheduled for
installation.
7. Four Solar Lights were added at Manatee Sanctuary Park.
8. Banana River Park Soccer Field has 2 BYSO teams using it for practices &
Our Saviors Church is using it for all their home games. Future plans: 4-
tier bleachers for spectators & benches for player seating. Looking into
mere park benches for Manatee & Banana River Parks.
9. Looking into security surveillance system for Manatee Sanctuary Park.
10.2007-08 final budget approved.
11.City Manager & Recreation Director met with Jack Masse, (Brevard
County Parks & Recreation) to discuss the City taking over Cheri Down
Park

New Business; Guest Ray Osbourne asked the board to approve a history of Cape
Canaveral display in the kiosk at Manatee Sanctuary Park. Other suggestions
included City Hall and the Visitor's Center. The board will discuss it at the next
meeting.
Discussion opened by Chris Hale questioning whether Our Saviors would pay for
the additions to the Soccer Field.
Motion to move forward with the Nancy Hanson Recreation. All board members
present voted in favor of the name Nancy Hanson Recreation Complex.Motion to
include Memorial was made by Eileen Kandret , seconded by Hank Dinenno. Carol
Delano, Chris Hale and John Datillo voted against it.Motion to have her name in
signature form made by Hank Dinenno. Seconded by John Datillo. And motion
unanimously approved by all members present. Motion to go with option 2 (buffet
style luncheon) was made by John Datillo, seconded by Eileen Kandret and motion
unanimously approved by all members present. Suggestion was make to put up a big
tent with chairs between the racquetball and shuffleboard courts, to accommodate as
many guests as possible.
The board unanimously voted to add the Life Trails from Playmore.
Carol Delano made the suggestion to add a Dog Park in the City of Cape Canaveral.
Shannon Roberts said it was included in the Comprehensive plan. Chris Hale moved
and Hank Dinenno seconded the motion that they would like to look into the
possibity of having a Dog Park in the city.
All board members voted on the Life Trails from Playmore to be added to the ped
way at Manatee Sanctuary Park.
Next meeting discuss the signage at the new park.
No further discussion requests were made by any Board Members.
Hank Dinenno moved and seconded by Chris Hale that this meeting be adjourned.
Motion passed unanimously by members present and the meeting was adjourned at
6:25pm
