HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 08-26-2002CITY OF CAPE CANAVERAL COMMUNITY APPEARANCE BOARD AUGUST 26, 2002 MINUTES A meeting of the City of Cape Canaveral Community Appearance Board was held on August 26, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. in the City Hall Annex, 111 Polk Avenue, Cape Canaveral, Florida. The Secretary called the roll. MEMBERS PRESENT Walter Bowman Randy Camomilli Karen Hayes Burt Bruns Paul Hurley OTHERS PRESENT Thomas Bubb Jeffrey Buak Susan Chapman NEW BUSINESS Chairperson Vice Chairperson Building Inspector/Plans Examiner Assistant City Attorney Board Secretary Approval of Meeting Minutes: August 26, 2002 Motion by Mr. Bruns, seconded by Ms. Hayes to approve the meeting minutes of August 5, 2002 as submitted. Vote on the motion carried unanimously. All persons giving testimony were sworn in by Assistant City Attorney Jeffrey Buak. Request No. 02 -27 - Single Family Residence - Lot 2, Coral Drive, Harbor Heights - Hometown Builders, Applicant for Richard & Fay Morrish, Property Owners. Ms. Chris Lang, Hometown Builders, testified that the proposed single family residence would be constructed on the center lot of three lots. The Board members reviewed the data packets, photographs, shingles & color samples and elevations. Brief discussion followed. Motion by Mr. Camomilli, seconded by Mr. Bruns to approve Request No. 02 -27 as presented. Vote on the motion carried unanimously. Request No. 02 -29 & 02 -31 - Fence - 127 & 129 Ocean Garden Lane - Jennifer & Patrick Wigglesworth and David & Kathy Reed. Property Owners. David and Kathy Reid testified that the fence would be a 6 ft. high board on board fence. The Board members reviewed the data packs. Brief discussion followed. Motion by Mr. Bruns, seconded by Ms. Hayes to approve Request Nos. 02 -29 & 02 -31 as presented. Vote on the motion carried unanimously. Atlantic Avenue - William D Harrell Applicant Tom Bubb, Plans Examiner, postponed this request until further notice. He advised that the applicant was not available for this meeting. Request No. 02 -28 - Tri -Plex - N. W. corner of Lincoln Avenue - Walter C Bowman Applicant Thomas Freund, Owner. The Board members reviewed the data packets, photographs, shingles, color samples and elevations. Mr. Bowman testified that the building was a 2 -story tri -plex. The building color would be bisque, with white trim, light gray shingled roof, 2 -story building, which included 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms, 3 -car garage in each unit, with an upstairs porch which will cantilever over the lst floor. The Board members reviewed the landscape plan. Brief discussion followed. Motion by Ms. Hayes, seconded by Mr. Bruns to approve Request No. 02 -28 as presented. Vote on the motion carried unanimously. DISCUSSION: Mr. Bruns inquired about the status of the pavers at the Flores Del Mar Condominiums. Mr. Bubb responded that he had not reinspected the project. He further reported that the Building Official informed him that some of the pavers were not required because they did not have a visual impact to neighboring properties. Ms. Hayes inquired about the Welcome to Cape Canaveral sign and asked why it had not been presented to the Board. Mr. Bubb responded that he believed that the sign was outside of the city limits and therefore, the Board would not review the plans.
