HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 11-05-2001CITY OF CAPE CANAVERAL COMMUNITY APPEARANCE BOARD NOVEMBER 5, 2001 MINUTES A meeting of the City of Cape Canaveral Community Appearance Board was held on November 5, 2001 at 7:00 P.M. in the City Hall Annex, 111 Polk Avenue, Cape Canaveral, Florida. The Secretary called the roll. MEMBERS PRESENT: Nadena Easler Walter Bowman Randy Camomilli Karen Hayes OTHERS PRESENT: Chairperson Vice Chairperson Morris Reid Building Official Thomas Bubb Building Inspector/Plans Examiner Stefan Mays Assistant City Attorney Susan Chapman Board Secretary NEW BUSINESS Approval of Meeting Minutes: October 15, 2001 Motion by Mr. Bowman, seconded by Mr. Camomilli to approve the meeting minutes of October 15, 2001 as submitted. Vote on the motion carried unanimously. Attorney Mays swore in all persons giving testimony. 2. Request No. 01 -41 - Single Family Residence - 298 East Central Blvd - Trade Wind Builders, Applicant. The Board members reviewed the submitted elevations, photos, landscaping and floor plan of the proposed single family residence. Jennifer Wigglesworth, Trade Wind Builders, testified that the house trim, soffit, doors, garage, window frames and columns would be white; with darker white bandings; gray shingles roof, and the building buff beige. Discussion followed regarding proposed landscaping. Motion by Ms. Hayes, seconded by Mr. Bowman to approve Request No. 01 -41 as presented. Vote on the motion carried unanimously. Community Appearance Board Meeting Minutes November 5, 2001 Page 2 Request No. 01 -42 - Townhouse - 127 & 129 Ocean Garden Lane - Trade Wind Builders, Applicant. The Board members reviewed colored swatches, photos, elevations and floor plan of the proposed townhouse. Jennifer Wigglesworth, Trade Wind Builders, testified that each townhouse unit would have an in ground swimming pool. The proposed building would be western reserve beige; the trim, soffit, fascia, railings, doors, and window frames would be white; the shingled roof would be driftwood blend. Discussion followed regarding the location of the a/c units. Mr. Bowman suggested that shrubbery could be placed around the a/c units to hide them from view. Motion by Mr. Camomilli, seconded by Mr. Bowman to approve Request No. 01 -42 as presented. Vote on the motion carried unanimously. 4. Request No. 01 -43 - Townhouse - 107 & 109 Adams Avenue (Adams Villas - Phase II) - Thomas H. Quinn, Applicant. The Board members reviewed the proposed landscape plan, elevations, photos and colors of the proposed townhouse. Thomas Quinn, Applicant, testified that (3) oak trees and (3) palms would be saved on the corner lot, east unit; the proposed townhouse was a one -story building; the west end unit would have a landscape buffer consisting of (3) - 25 ft. X 10 ft. landscape planting areas consisting of hibiscus, crotons, palms, lirope and Indian Hawthorne. The color of the stucco building would be silver gray pebble; the bandings, garage door, soffit and fascia would be white; the shingled roof would be Birchwood dimensional blend. Motion by Ms. Hayes, seconded by Mr. Camomilli to approve Request No. 01 -43 as presented. Vote on the motion carried unanimously.
