COMMUNITY APPEARANCE BOARD
AUGUST 20, 2001
MINUTES
A meeting of the City of Cape Canaveral Community Appearance Board was held on
August 20, 2001 at 7:00 P.M. in the City Hall Annex, 111 Polk Avenue, Cape Canaveral,
Florida. The Secretary called the roll.

Approval of Meeting; Minutes: August 6, 2001.
Motion by Ms. Hayes, seconded by Mr. Bowman to approve the meeting minutes of
August 6, 2001 as submitted. Vote on the motion carried unanimously.
Attorney McQuagge swore in all persons giving testimony.
2. Request No. 01 -33 - Single Family Residence - 609 Manatee Bay Drive - Help -
You- Build- America, Inc., Applicant.
The Board members reviewed their submittal packets. Steven Anderson, Applicant,
testified that the inner trim would be El Capitan beige and the outer trim Cinnamon
Beige; Papyrus Beige would be the main house color; the railings, soffit, fascia, and
garage door would be white. Mr. Anderson verified that the colors were approved by the
Discovery Bay Homeowners Association. Discussion was held regarding the finished
floor (f f.) elevation. Mr. Anderson responded that the f.f. would be approximately 7.5.
Mr. Stevens testified that the property would be heavily landscaped with native plants.
Ms. Hayes clarified that Level I applications were not required to provide landscape
plans.
Motion by Mr. Bowman, seconded by Mr. Camomilli to approve Request No. 0 1-3 3 as
submitted. Vote on the motion carried unanimously.

3. Request No. 01 -34 - Detached (2) Car Garage 253 Harbor Drive - Richard and
Jo -Ann Jensen, Applicants.
Mr. Jensen testified that he was requesting to construct a detached 2 -car garage, the fence
would be removed along the rear of the property, the color of the building would be off -
white with a white garage door and light off -white shingled roof; and no trees would be
removed.
Motion by Ms. Hayes, seconded by Mr. Camomilli to approve Request No. 01 -34 with
the condition that the colors of the house and garage be compatible. Motion carried
unanimously.
4. Request No. 0 1-3 5 - Signs - 8501 Astronaut Boulevard, Suite C - (Atlantic Shores
Realty) - Wa fad st Signs. Applicant.
Ed Mowrey, Wayfast Signs, testified that this request was for two signs; one sign would
be installed on the reader board and a 4 X 7 sign above the door. The Board members
reviewed the color rendering and photographs. Brief discussion followed.
Motion by Mr. Camomilli, seconded by Ms. Hayes to approve Request No. 01 -35 as
submitted. Vote on the motion carried unanimously.
Request No. 01 -36 - Sign - 7090 N. Atlantic Avenue (Cape Consignment &
Furniture) - Kendal Signs, Applicant.
The representative from Kendal Signs explained the location and dimensions of the
proposed sign; the illuminated sign would be installed above the door, the sign had a red
cabinet with white background and red letters; vinyl letters would also be installed in the
windows as shown in the submitted photograph. Brief discussion followed.
Motion by Ms. Hayes, seconded by Mr. Bowman to approve Request No. 0 1-3 6 as
submitted. Vote on the motion carried unanimously.
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 7:35 p.m.
