JANUARY 22, 2001
MINUTES
A meeting of the City of Cape Canaveral Community Appearance Board was
held on January 22, 2001 at 7:00 P.M. in the City Hall Annex, 111 Polk Avenue,
Cape Canaveral, Florida. The Secretary called the roll.

Attorney McQuagge swore in all persons giving testimony.
NEW BUSINESS:
Approval of Meeting Minutes: January 8 2001
Motion by Ms. Neilsen, seconded by Mr. Camomilli to approve the meeting
minutes of January 8, 2001. Vote on the motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Bowman reported that his professional affiliation with Go Signs presented a
Conflict of Interest and he needed to refrain from the vote on Request No. 01 -02.
Mr. Gulick asked if he could get a temporary permit in order to accommodate the
applicant's grand opening this upcoming weekend. Mr. Reid contacted Ms.
Hayes to attend the meeting in order to provide the necessary quorum to vote on
the request. The Board reviewed Mr. Wilson's Request at this time.
2. Request No. 01 -03 - Doug Wilson Enterprises - garage - 6121 N Atlantic
Avenue - Doug Wilson, Applicant.
Mr. Wilson pointed out the structures planned location on his property. Mr.
Wilson explained that he could have purchased a structure, however, the
completed structure will be similar to his office. Mr. Wilson stated that the bust

the structure would hold belonged to former NASCAR driver, Kenny Irwin. Mr.
Camomilli asked if Mr. Wilson planned to add any additional landscaping. Mr.
Wilson stated that little is needed that his property had won a previous
Beautification Award. Mr. Wilson explained his option to purchase some
additional commercial property that will allow him ingress and egress for the
vehicle.
A motion was made by Ms. Nielsen and seconded by Mr. Camomilli to approve
Request No. 01 -03 as presented. Vote on the motion carried unanimously.
3. Request No. 01 -02. Brevard Baptist Association - Pole Sign - 8907 N
Atlantic Avenue Mike Gulick Go Signs Applicant
Mr. Mike Gulick, owner of Go Signs, described the 8 -foot by 2 -foot sign. He
named Mr. Walter Bowman as the project architect. Mr. Gulick pointed out that a
planter is proposed for the bottom half of the sign. He affirmed that this is the old
Post Office property. Ms. Hayes encouraged any additional improvements.
A motion was made by Ms. Hayes and seconded by Ms. Nielsen to approve
Request No. 01 -02 as presented. Motion carried unanimously.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
