ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
OCTOBER 22, 1990
A Meeting of the City of Cape Canaveral Zoning Board of Adjustment
was held on October 22 1990 at the City Hall Annex, 111 Polk
Avenue. Cape Canaveral. Florida. Chairman Lloyd called the meeting
to order at 7:30 P.H.
The Secretary called the roll.

Hr. Farmer moved to approve the minutes of August 27, 1990 with the
amendment that Mr. Laws was absent at the meeting. Mr. Hoog
seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS
1. Request No. 90-10, Special Exception to increase hazardous
waste storage limitation permitted by Special Exception 1 , 10.

Mr. England, Environmental Engineer, representative for Rockwell
International. clarified that the special exception request was not
to increase hazardous waste storage, oraqe. but to increase limitations
of liquified petroleum products. He explained that the chemicals
would be stored in explosion- proof prefabricated steel chemical
storage modules. He further explained that a chemical storage
complex would be located at 250 W. Central Boulevard on the south
side of the building and three chemical storage modules would be
located in one location at 8600 Astronaut Boulevard behind the
building.
The Board members reviewed the submitted specifications of the
chemical storage facilities. Chairman Lloyd reviewed the
contingencies of the previous Special Exception Request No. 86-8,
Rockwell International, which had been grgntpd,
Mrs. Rigerman moved to grant Special Exception Request Mo. 90-10
with the following contingencies:
I Liquified Petroleum Products storage not to exceed 1,000
gallons.

2. MSDS knox box must be provided.
3. Day to day inventory must be provided.
4. Ouantities to be limited as per NFPA-30.
5. The Special Exception will expire when Rockwell
International discontinues use of facility.
6. Rockwell will provide proper containment to meet the
Building Department and Fire Department requirements.
Mr. Hoog seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
2. 90 Special Exception to install a 45 foot
Lower with 16 foot antenna in a C-1 Zone, Sec. ' 1 3, TwP. 24S,
Rqe. 37E, Block 25, Lots 7 & 8, 15 & 16.Avon (190
Jackson Avenue). Petitioner was David J. Sarcreant for Ca e
Canaveral Volunteer Fire Department, Inc., Agent
David Sarcreant , Fire Chief, explained that the existing tower would
be taken down and antennas utilized for emergency communication
purposes would be instal-led on the new 45 foot tower. The Board
m embers reviewed the tower specifications. Discussion followed.
Mrs. Riaerman moved to approve Special Exception Request No. 90-
11. Mr. Laws seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 8:20
