HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 08-27-1990CITY OF CAPE CANAVERAL ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT AUGUST 27, 1990 A Meetina of the City of Cape Canaveral Zoning Board of Adjustment was held on August 27. 1990 at the City Hall Annex, 111 Polk Avenue, Cape Canaveral, Florida. Vice Chairman Rigerman called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. The Secretary called the roll. MEMBERS PRESENT: Marilyn Rigerman Robert Laws Ronnie Farmer Nellie Cardinale Pat Lee Robert Hoocr Vice Chairman 1st Alternate 2nd Alternate MEMBERS ABSENT: Russell Lloyd Robert Laws Chairman I OTHERS PRESENT: Rocky Randels Kohn Bennett James Morgan Susan Nelson Council Member Deputy City Attorney Building Official Secretary Mr. Hoog moved to approve the minutes of July 30, 1990 as submitted. Mr. Farmer seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. NEW BUSINESS 1. Req11e,§t__Ng, 90=2 _ Exception to Construct Outdoor _ Sp ecial Recreation Area in a C-1 Zone, a portion of Parcel 750, Sec. 1i Twp. 24S, Rae. 37E, (1W Corner of AIA & Central Boulevard). P was James E. Allen for Hote'Lodaina Cor� Owner Mrs. Rigerman stated for the record that her company had done work for Hote'Lodging Management Corporation and she was personal friends with the officers of that corporation. She further stated that she had no financial interest in the transaction nor in the corporation. Mr. James Allen explained that the property would be used for outdoor recreation to consist of go-carts, baseball batting cage, water bumper boat facilities and miniature golf course. He noted that young'adults would be employed and noted that it would be an asset to the community. Lee asked Why this 'was being before the Zoning ------ zone. - ­ — ­ - ­ ----- ­ ---- Mr. Moraan, Building official, reiterated that under Commercial Uses, paragraph (H), of the City Zoning Regulations, noise levels were not specifically mentioned and therefore, may be considered a special exception. Discussion followed. Zoning Board of Adjustment August 27, 1990 Page 1 of 2 Mr. Lee moved to grant Special Exception Request No. 90 -9 subject to the recommendations of the Planning & Zoning Board. Mr. Hoog seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
