HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 05-21-1990CITY OF CAPE CANAVERAL ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT MAY 21, 1990 A Meeting of the City of Cape Canaveral Zoning Board of Adjustment was held on May 21, 1990 at the City Hall Annex, 111 Polk Avenue, Cape Canaveral, Florida. Vice Chairman Rigerman called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. The Secretary called the roll. MEMBERS PRESENT: Marilyn Rigerman Robert Laws Ronnie Farmer Pat Lee MEMBERS ABSENT: Russell Lloyd Nellie Cardinale OTHERS PRESENT: Leo Nicholas Kohn Bennett James Morgan Susan Nelson Vice Chairman 1st Alternate 2nd Alternate Chairman City Manager Deputy City Attorney Building Official Secretary Mr. Laws moved to approve the minutes of April 16, 1990 as submitted. Mr. Farmer seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously., NEW BUSINESS 1. Request No. 90 -7 Special Ex ception to Construct Townhomes in a C -1 Zone, Section 23 Township 24 South Range 37 East Block 19, Lots 5 - 8 and 12 - Avon Subdivision (Located on the West side of Poinsetta Avenue between Madison and Monroe). Petitioner was John C. Tuttle Jr. for Flora Lawson, Owner Vice Chairman Rigerman advised that four members must vote in favor of a special exception in order for it to be granted. Ms. Rigerman poled the petitioner and he agreed to have the case heard, even though only four Board member's were in attendance. The Board members reviewed the special exception request. Mr. Tuttle stated that he intended to construct townhomes similar to San Tomas Villas. Discussion was held on lot width requirements. Ms. Carol Beck, Realtor, voiced her opinion that it would be an asset to the surrounding area. Mr. Lee moved that Special Exception Request No. 90 -7 be granted. Mr. Laws seconded the motion.
