MINUTES €! { f CALL TO ORDER: PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: ROLL CALL: Council Members Present Lary Weber Richard Treverton Burt Bruns Mayor Pro Tem Buzz Petsos Mayor Rocky Randels Others Present City Manager, Bennett Boucher City Attorney, Kohn Bennett City Clerk, Sandra Sims Public Works Director, Edward Gardulski Recreation Director, Nancy Hanson Building Official, Dennis Franklin PRESENTATIONS: Mayor Randels and Mayor Pro Tem Petsos commended and presented Recognition Awards to the 1999 Reindeer Run Sponsors. Special recognition was given Kim McIntire, Administrative Assistant and Suzanne Sparling of United Way for coordinating the event. Ms. McIntire presented the $6,040.13 check to Ms. Sparling for the United Way of Brevard County. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CAPE CANAVERAL, BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA; AUTHORIZING THE ASSIGNMENT OF THE GARBAGE AND RECYCLING SERVICES AGREEMENT TO WASTE MANAGEMENT, D /B /A HARRIS SANITATION, INC; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. A motion was made by Mr. Petsos and seconded by Mr. Bruns to adopt Resolution No. 2000 -01. I The motion passed 5 -0, with voting as follows: Mr. Weber, For; Mr. Treverton, For; Mr. Bruns, For; Mayor Pro Tem Petsos, For and Mayor Randels, For E REPORTS: 2. City Manager — Bennett Boucher o FPL still working on transmission poles within the City o County will start Tower Boulevard construction paving by the end of the month o Sand fencing has been repaired — costs have been submitted to FEMA for reimbursement o Citywide sidewalk repairs will be accomplished during the next few months o A letter is being sent to all condominium associations regarding reclaimed water o Public Works obtained FDOT certification to administer the FDOT A1A } landscaping grant. 1 t Audience: Tom Marino, Columbia Drive o Mr. Marino expressed concern that neighborhood complaints regarding noise and behavior from the Blue Cafe have not been settled, other than No Trespassing signs being installed. A written report is to be submitted by the Sheriffs Canaveral I Precinct in response to this issue. Council Member – Richard Treverton 3 No report. i i Council Member – Burt Bruns 1 M Bruns queried about the status of the Stormwater Master Plan. City Manager, o r. runs q tY er, 9 Mr. Boucher responded that it would be presented at the next Regular Council meeting. 1 o Mr. Bruns queried about the status of the Planning Solutions report and sign ordinance. Mr. Boucher responded that the Planning and Zoning Board are reviewing the documents. o Mr. Bruns queried when the SSA Stormwater Report would be presented. Mr. 1 Boucher responded that it would be on the next agenda.
