HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 12-16-2002CITY OF CAPE CANAVERAL COMMUNITY APPEARANCE BOARD DECEMBER 16, 2002 MINUTES A meeting of the City of Cape Canaveral Community Appearance Board was held on December 16, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. in the City Hall Annex, 111 Palk Avenue, Cape Canaveral, Florida. The Secretary called the roll. Walter Bowman Randy Camomilli Paul Hurley Burt Bruns MEMBERS ABSENT Karen Hayes OTHERS PRESENT Thomas Bubb Jeff Buak Jane Scofield NEW BUSINESS Chairperson (Arrived At 7:05 PM) Vice Chairperson Building Inspector /Plans Examiner City Attorney Secretary 1 Approval of Meeting Minutes: November 18, 2002. Motion by Mr. Bruns, seconded by Mr. Hurley to approve the November 18, 2002 Meeting Minutes as submitted. Vote on the motion carried unanimously.. Attorney Buak swore in all persons giving testimony. 2 Request No 02 -45 — Suncastles — Single Family Residence — 800 Central Blvd. — Laura Dooley., Applicant Ms. Dooley presented plans for a single family residence on Central Blvd. She stated the home would be cement block with cream color stucco with a cream coffee trim. The roof would be shingle instead of tile. Mr. Camomilli asked if the home owner would consider a tile roof. Mr. On, the home owners brother stated that there were other homes in the area that had shingle roofs. A short discussion followed. Motion by Mr. Camomilli, second by Mr. Bruns to approve Request No 02-45. Vote on the motion carried unanimously. 3 Request No 02 -4E - Bayport condominums - Condominums - Thurm Blvd. Bill Young, Applicant Community Appearance Board Minutes �� -cc7pG Page 2 Mr. Young presented colored drawings and photos of his new development. It will consist of 2 -5 story buildings with 24 units in each and 58 townhouses. The colors will be a cream for the structure and white trim with a light brown the roof similar to the Bayside development, which is just south. The landscaping will be done later, and will be done similar to Bayside. The large retention pond in the middle of the project will have a fountain. They would like to construct a large privacy wall around the project at a later date. Mr. Bruns complimented Mr. Young on how nice the project was. Motion by Bowman, Second by Mr. Camoiniili to approve Request No. 02 -46 vvtc on tiic iiivuvii k-arricu uiiaiuiii DISCUSSION 1 Discussion and Recommendation to the City Council Re: Re ulg ation Of the Color of Buildings City Attorney Buak presented an ordinance regulating the color of buildings to the board. Color Regulations - C -1, C -2, & M -1. The ordinance would limit the colors of buildings in the C -1, C -2 & M -1 zones by requiring the buildings be painted with subtle colors, harmonious with the surrounding uses and limit bright or brilliant colors to trim or accent components. A short discussion followed. Motion by Mr. Bowman to recommend approval of the Color Ordinance to the City Council, second by Mr. Camomilli. Motion carried unanimously.
