DECEMBER 17, 2001
MINUTES
A meeting of the City of Cape Canaveral Community Appearance Board was held on December 17, 2001
at 7:00 p.m. in the City Hall Annex, 111 Polk Avenue, Cape Canaveral, Florida. The Secretary called the
roll.

1. ADDroval of Meetiniz Minutes: November 19, 2001
Motion by Ms. Hayes, seconded by Mr. Camomilli to approve the meeting minutes of November 19, 2001
as submitted. Vote on the motion carried unanimously.
2. Request No. 01-47 - Pole Sign - 8010 N. Atlantic Avenue - Kendal Sims, Applicant.
Mr. Mullen, applicant, testified that the proposed sign would be aluminum with a steel pole and plastic
fronts, stucco finish that would match the building He depicted the proposed location from a picture of the
site. Brief discussion followed.
Motion by Mr. Camomilli, s=nded by Ms. Hayes to approve Request 01 -47 with the conditions that the
stucco finish match the building and the sign be placed at the location as depicted on the submitted
photograph. Vote on the motion carried unanimously.
Request No. 01-48 - Tvler Gardens Tovkmhomes - Rosalind Avenue - Norm Boucher. Applicant.
The Board members reviewed the submitted d ate Mr. Boucher testified that the building would be canvas
tan with white trim and driftwood color shingles, as per the submitted color samples. He further testified
that the proposed townhomes would consist of nwo buildings with two units per building, approximately
1,600 sq. ft. per unit, each unit would have a shadowbox privacy fence, concrete patio, small shrubs would
be planted along the back of the property, each unit would have three bedrooms and bathrooms. The Board
complimented Mr. Boucher on his previous de- elopments. Mr. Boucher agreed to landscape between the
driveways.
Motion by Ms. Hayes, seconded by Mr. Camomlli to approve Request No. 01 -48 as presented, including
landscaping between the driveways. Vote on t.'hie motion carried unanimously.

4. Reouest No. 01 -49 - Wall Sims - 7199 N. Atlantic Avenue - Mike Gulick. Go Sims. ADDlicant
Mr. Gulick testified that the two signs totaled 12 sq. ft., the signs would be attached to the building, the
signs were constructed of plywood with edge cap around the borders, the signs were blue and black
lettering on white background to match the corporate logos. Brief discussion follo"ved.
Motion by Mr. Bowman. seconded by Ms. Hayes to approve Request 01 -49 as presented. Vote on the
motion carried unanimously.
DISCUSSION
The Board held discussion regarding boat docks. Assistant City Attorney McQuagge advised that it was
his opinion, at the discretion of the building official, that boat docks do have a visual impact to surrounding
properties and should come before the Board for approval.
There being no further business, the meeting nas adjourned at 7:30 p.m
