OPEN DISCUSSION: expaillLgi Pursuant to Section 286.1015, F.S., the City hereby advises the public that: If a person decides to appeal any decision made by the Community Appearance Board with respect to any matter considered at this meeting, that person will need a record of the proceedings, and for such purpose that person may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based. This notice does not constitute consent by the City for the introduction or admission into evidence of otherwise inadmissible or irrelevant evidence, nor does it authorize challenges or appeals not otherwise allowed by law. This meeting may include the attendance of one or more members of the Cape Canaveral City Council, Board of Adjustment, Code Enforcement and/or Planning & Zoning Board who may or may not participate in Board discussions held at this public meeting. The first is your review of the "draft" Final Visioning Report. The City Council has requested that all advisory boards review the Visior;ir:g Report and prov,de their thoughts and doll mentJ. Al ly feedback will be conveyed to the Council. The Visioning Report can be viewed from the CD included in this packet or downloaded from the City website, citvofcapecanaveral.org. Secondly, the Board needs to pick a new night to meet as Monday night will no longer hp gvgi1ah1P when IMP move into the new Council Chambers in � the library. CITY OF CAPE CANAVERAL COMMUNITY APPEARANCE BOARD OCTOBER 5, 2009 MINUTES A meeting of the City of Cape Canaveral Community Appearance Board was held on October 5, 2009, in the City Hall Annex, 111 Polk Avenue, Cape Canaveral, Florida. Randy Wasserman, Chairperson, called the meeting to Order at 7:00 p.m. All persons giving testimony were sworn in by Kate Latorre, Assistant City Attorney. Motion by Randy Wasserman, seconded by Joyce Kelley, to approve the meeting minutes of July 20, 2009. Vote on the motion carried unanimously. 2. Reguest No. 09-07 - Single Family Residence - (219 Long Point Road) - Section 22, Township 24 South Range 37 East Block B Lot 6 Long Point Subdivision - Mack Mosier for Trade Wind Builders Inc Applicant The Board members reviewed paint and roof samples, colored photographs of the property, elevations, and landscape plan. Community Appearance Board Meeting Minutes October 5, 2009 Page 2 Mack Mosier, applicant, advised that the lot was vacant and fairly wooded; the owner designed the home around the trees; two Oak trees would be removed, because they were hollow; another Oak tree would be removed that was located on the property line; an Elm tree located on the edge of the street would be relocated to the rear of the property; the owners chose neutral colors to blend in with the natural vegetation; the banding, garage door and trim would be white; the body of the building would be Kenya tan; the a/c would be located behind the garage and not seen from the street; the sidewalk and driveway would be cement; and shrubbery beds would be planted in front of the house. The Board members complimented the applicant on the chosen house design and chosen colors. Motion by Kelley Sweet Jensen, seconded by Joyce Kelley to approve Request No. 09-07, as presented. Vote on the motion carried unanimously. OPEN DISCUSSION Barry Brown, Planning Director, gave a briefing on the next Visioning Workshop meeting being held on October 22nd at 6 p.m. at the Radisson Resort David Schirtzinger advised that the Charter Review Committee would be meeting on Thursday, October 7th, from 5:30 to 7:30, all were invited to attend. David Schirtzinger voiced his negative opinion about the Traxx Family Fun Center chain link fence that was recently approved by the Board of Adjustment. He question why fences don't come before the Community Appearance Board. He was concerned that more chain link fences would be installed along the City's main corridor. Discussion followed regarding types and looks of fences. There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 7:25 p.m. Approved on this. day of _ Randy Wasserman, Chairperson Susan L.
