The D7024 Fire Alarm Control Panels (FACPs) can be used
in commercial and public building applications such as
schools, universities, manufacturing plants, and health care
facilities. They are listed by UL for central station, local,
auxiliary, and remote station systems.
The D7024 FACPs support four on -board initiating zones
that can be expanded to eight using the D7034. Each
initiating zone supports two -wire and four -wire detectors
configurable as Class A, Style D (with D7014) or Class B,
S.tyle B loops. Each zone can support up to 20 two -wire
detectors. or any number of four -wire detectors depending
on available power. Each FACP has a built-in digital fire
alarm communicator transmitter (DACT).
Enhance. the D7024 conventional system features when
running version 2.02 or higher firmware by adding a D7039
Multiplex Expansion Module. Adding a D7039 Multiplex
Expansion Module to the D7024 turns the conventional
FACP into an addressable FACP. The D7039 adds up to 247
addressable points to the base system and adds an
additional 400 events to the history buffer for a total of 499
events. The D7039 also increases the number of
programmable relay outputs from 18 to 58 and allows up to
100 system users (an addition of 84 PINs to the base
system).

operate horns, strobes, bells, and other notification
appliances. Each NAC can be programmed to provide
Temporal Code 3, steady, pulsed, and synchronized output
for Wheelock' and Gentex' notification appliances.
User Interface
A viewing port in the keyed control panel enclosure door
shows the system status light -emitting diodes (LEDs) and
LCD display while maintaining system keypad security.
Unlocking the enclosure door provides access to the system
controls for silencing off -normal conditions, zone
bypassing, detector resetting, testing, other fire functions,
and programming. These functions are also available on all
D7033 LCD Keypads connected to the system. All D7036
LCD Annunciators provide custom text annunciation on a
32 -character, backlit, two-line LCD display. All system
keypads and annunciators have built-in sounders. Back -light
intensity and sounder volume are programmable.

Personal Identification Numbers (PINs)
There are 16 PINs available for accessing system control.
Assign each number an authority level to limit access to the
system control functions.
Note The number of PINs increases to 100 with the
addition of a D7039 Multiplex Expansion
Module.
History Buffer
The system stores events in a 99 -event history buffer.
Note The number of events that can be stored in the
history buffer increases to 499 with the

The D7024 FACPs send reports to two telephone numbers Modules
with full single, double, and backup reporting. They
communicate in BFSK, SIA, Contact ID, Modem Illa2, and
4/2 and 3/1 Tone Bursts.
Dirty Smoke Detector Monitoring
All on -board zones and D7034 zones are continuously
monitored for smoke detectors signaling a dirty condition
using the Bosch Chamber CheckO feature and CIeanMe@
protocol. If a detector's smoke chamber is dirty, the
detector sends a CleanMe signal on the two -wire loop or a
dirty detector signal on the addressable loop. The control
panel annunciates that there is a dirty detector on -the loop
or the address. The Chamber Check feature signals a dirty
smoke chamber using the LED on the detector head.
Accessories
The D7024 enclosure has space for additional accessory
modules and two D1218 (18 Ah) batteries or two D126

Description
The D7050 and D7050TH are low profile, Multiplexing,
Photoelectric System type smoke detectors for the D7024
Series Fire Alarm Control/Communicators using a D7039
Multiplex Expansion Module. The D705ODH is designed for
use with the D343 Duct Smoke Detector Housing. The patented
chamber design provides superior immunity to false alarms
caused by dust. The detector is designed for use with
commercial and household fire warning systems. An LED
indicator flashes to verify that the detector has power and the
smoke sampling circuitry is functioning.
When properly installed using the D7050-136 base or the D343
Smoke Detector Housing, tamper protection is provided by
multiplex wiring. This causes the control panel to initiate a
trouble signal when a detector is removed from its base.
Application
The D7050 Series smoke detectors are intended for detection
circuits installed in areas where personnel are present. Heat
detectors are appropriate for circuits that supervise property.
The D7050 Series Photoelectric Smoke Detectors are designed
to detect large smoke particles.
The D7050TH which has an added fixed temperature sensor,
expands the detector application to confined areas where a
fire increases air temperature slowly and where there is a
substantial increase in air temperature before the fire breaks
confinement, such as furnace rooms, closets, and other
confined areas.
The D705ODH Photoelectric Smoke Detector is designed to
detect smoke particles in air ducts when used with the D343
Duct Smoke Detector Housing.
radionics

Installation
Radionics smoke and heat detectors are compound devices.
The detector base installs over a back box and contains all the
wiring. The detector head attaches to the base by aligning the
head with the base and turning it clockwise. No tools are
required for installation other than the hex key used to tighten
the tamper screw.
Install, test and maintain these devices according to their
Installation Guides, NFPA 72, Local Codes and the Authority
Having Jurisdiction. Failure to follow these procedures may
result in failure of the device to operate properly Radionics is
not responsible for devices that are improperly installed, tested
and maintained.

HEAT DETECTORS MIR -600 SERIES
Description
Mircom's MIR -600 Series Heat Detectors are attractive,
durable and feature combination rate -of -rise and
fixed temperature operation. Mircom's MIR -600 heat
detectors are available in 135'F(57'C) and 200*F (93'C)
temperature ratings. Rate -of -rise detects heat by quickly
responding to a rapid temperature increase. Rate -of -rise
units have a wide spacing allowance of 50 -foot centers.
See specification table for details. Fixed temperature
reacts to heat by responding to a specific temperature
setting. Mircom's MIR -600 Series detectors use the
same reliable pneumatic rate -of -rise element of former
models, but offer added aesthetic appeal.
The pneumatic rate -of -rise element responds to a
rapid rise in temperature, approximately 15'F (8'C) per
minute, by expansion of air within the sealed chamber
faster than it can escape through a calibrated vent. The
resultant increase in pressure depresses the diaphragm,
causing the electrical contact to close the circuit. The
fixed temperature element uses a fusible alloy. When
activated, the external heat collector drops away to
provide quick visual confirmation that the element has
operated. The units protrude only 1-3/8 inch from the
ceiling surface with a junction box mounting. They have
pleasing contours and an all -white finish that conforms
to ceiling aesthetics.
MIR -600 Testing Methods
Models 601/621 and 602/622 can be tested by the
application of quick heat from any convenient source. A
portable hair dryer is recommended. However, do not
apply heat that exceeds the fixed temperature rating of
the detector. Models 603/623 and 604/624 cannot be
tested. However, the fusible alloy element is generally
considered so reliable that testing is not necessary.

Installation
Each detector includes a patented reversible mounting
plate. In one position, it easily attaches to 4" junction
box, 3 1/4" octagon box or plaster ring.
In reverse, the plate can be used for open wiring
without a junction box. A 1/4" space between detector
and mounting surface allows for wire connections. All
mounting screws are concealed.
The detector simply attaches to the mounting plate with
a push and twist motion. No tools are required. The
mounting plate is molded of white self -extinguishing
thermoplastic rated at 221'F (1050C). The plate
is extremely strong yet adapts to uneven mounting
surfaces.
