HomeMy WebLinkAboutFillmore Villas (2)Hi Maranda. Nice seeing you at last week’s Council meeting. I hope you feel there was positive movement on the issue.
Below is an email received from FPL’s External Affairs Manager last Wednesday morning. Adrian is indicating the overhead work will be completed January 29th (today), and then the underground
work will be scheduled. I did receive a text from Wes (that included a text from your husband) stating that FPL had been out to the property last Wednesday to complete the overhead
work, however, the plans did not include the correct actions. Can you please confirm my understanding of this issue? Thanks.

Hi Todd,
Per the FPL engineer Adrian, please see his response below in red.
The underground job was scheduled around time of Thanksgiving, but customer preferred it not be done near Thanksgiving. Job was then pushed to end of December where crew attempted to
do the job but there was an issue with a privacy fence. I reached out to customer who owns the fence and they gave permission for us to do the job even if it damages fence. I spoke
to the underground contractors, and we are meeting tomorrow at 2:15 pm to discuss job and avoid any issues. If all goes well we are hoping by January 29 for the job to be done. Please
note this is the underground job with underground contractors. The overhead removal job will need to be released after the underground job is done.

Subject: Electrical service 304, 306, 314 and 316 Fillmore Ave Cape Canaveral
Hi Michelle,
It was nice talking with you on Friday. The issue we spoke about is the electrical service for 304, 306, 314 and 316 Fillmore Ave in Cape Canaveral.
I’m sure there already exists a ticket for the work and the design.
At issue, the four units are two 2-unit townhomes. They were all constructed at the same time (completed just over a year ago). There is a drainage swale across all of the rear yards
of all of the units. The drainage swale was constructed in the wrong location, and at too steep of an angle at the embankments. This is partly because a new utility pole and handhole
were installed on the property, with new overhead service from an old utility pole at the corner of 304, to the new pole, then down the pole to the handhole. From the handhole, the
service is underground to the units.
The installation of the new utility pole and handhole led to the developer wrongly relocating the swale. What should have been done, is there should have been no new pole and handhole
in the swale. This is because City code has for a long time, required all new electrical service to be underground when on private property.
The problem is the overhead service, the pole and the handhole. The pole and handhole need to be removed and all services run underground from the old pole.
So there are two problems:
1. The swale needs to be completely redone, and
2. The FPL pole and hand hole need to be removed and all of the electrical services run underground.
And the swale work can’t be done until the FPL work is done.
I hope that makes sense. Please call or text if you need any additional information.
I really appreciate your help getting this accomplished.
Thank you,
Todd
