Home My WebLink AboutRE_ Dichristopher’s code violation list (3)Yes I have many thoughts on this. We spoke in detail about this and decided to have the City Attorney weigh in on this. You also made contact with Mr. Dichristopher informing him of this. I have yet to hear how the City Attorney would like us to move forward with this. After briefly looking at the code it appears Section 98-66 covers lot splits, did this code section replace the 1962 code? If so then we would be citing 98-66 on properties that were split years prior. If it did not replace it then we would be citing a 1962 code. Just taking the first address listed in the complaint, this lot split appears to have been done around 1980 and looks like it has been sold approximately 3 different times since. Is it SOP to cite individuals for code violations dating back 43 years? If so I would need guidance on how to handle the flood of complaints this will generate not to mention all the other code violations that we have placed under the "non-conforming" blanket that would have to be brought into compliance to be consistent with our enforcement. We have not placed anything into BS&A due to these reasons, if I am instructed to move forward we will create cases and send NOV's. However it would be in our best interest to get guidance first due to this more than likely becoming an attorney issue. Your thoughts?
