Hey Everyone,
I spoke with Sgt. LaRoche yesterday and wanted to let you know that we got a few cool Jeeps from a Jeep Club we are in to ride through the Cocoa Palms this morning. We will already
be at the entrance waiting before BCSO and the rest of you all show up.
Once you arrive we will circle through first and then exit. Personally, I will circle back through in my Jeep behind the BCSO caravan and then park at the end to come see Ryett who
will be under a tent at the end. I let Cassie know these plans as well and everything should go smooth.
So, I plan on being there at the site but I will not be meeting at the BCSO precinct since I will already be at the entrance of the property.
Looking forward to it! See you all there and you can see the map below that I put together for the route recommended to enter by taking Rattan which is the road down the middle of
the property.
This is the map I provided to some of the Jeep owners. Ignore the notes because that does not apply. Just showing the way we will come in and exit and all you have to do is follow.
I believe you will all will come in as the final caravan and park at the back and stay until it’s time to leave.
I shared this with Sgt. LaRoche who is on the same page. Should be simple and put a big smile on Ryetts face.

There have been several email chains sent to various distributions regarding this event, its need to come together quickly and with multiple organizations/individuals involved in planning,
a recap/summary of the emails are below:
As the City understands:

· BCSO will be meeting at Canaveral Precinct at approximately 10:25 on Wednesday March 13.
· They will caravan over there (to the Cocoa Palms Mobile Home Park) at 10:30 to meet Ryett. (Full original email w/background below.)
· There will not be a formal “parade”. (No golf carts unless they are from within the park.)
· Sheriff and Junny will meet with Ryett along with others from the Fire Department, Council, Community, etc.
· BCSO will depart at around 11:00.
· Couple of things to consider:
o The roadway for the park is single lane, so keep this in mind when arriving.
o The POC from the Sheriff’s Office will be Sergeant Charles LaRoche, he can be reached at 321-747-5840. He is well versed on what is occurring and knows the exact location of where
Ryett is residing.
Mayor Morrison:
· Ryett’s favorite food items (in case anyone/group wants to purchase for him):

o Blue Takis

· The family’s Battle Cry is: #RyettStrong
· Mayor Morrison plans on sharing the opportunity for locals/community to come by after 11:00 a.m.? (TBD).
· Mayor Morrison will present the Key to the City to Ryett.
Council Member Willis:
· Purchased a “Key to the City” plaque that is being engraved.
· Don will pick up the plaque and transport it to the event for Mayor to present to Ryett.

Good Afternoon Everyone,
I am writing to ask for your participation in an unofficial "Parade" for a young boy named Ryett Jones.
Ryett has AML (acute myeloid leukemia). Ryett is 8 years old and has spent the last year in the hospital.
The doctors have told the family that there is nothing else that can be done for him. Ryett asked to go home instead of spending the end of his life in the hospital.
Ryett and his Mom live near Phoenix. Ryett's great grandfather, William Hopkins, known to everyone locally as Hoppy, was a Cape Canaveral resident for many, many years. Hoppy was
very involved in the Community. An active and generous member of both his time and money to the VFW. The American Legion and anywhere else he could help.
Ryett has a Bucket List that the family has been trying to fulfill for him. Something that he wanted to do was to come see his MeMe, his great grandmother, in Florida, one more time.
Ryett and his mother are flying in on Monday.
Ryett's family asked if the neighbors in The Cocoa Palms Mobile Home Park could duplicate a small parade we had in the neighborhood on St. Patrick's Day. Our "Parade" was with golf
carts and strollers. We of course said yes! And now we are trying to make it bigger! We have asked the BCSO to participate and they have agreed.
The "parade" is going to be Wednesday April 13 th in the morning. We did not have a lot of time to plan because Ryett's ability to travel from Phoenix to Cape Canaveral was up in the
air until a decision was made, just last night by his doctors and family, to go ahead and try to travel.
Brett Lockhart at the BCSO is organizing the Sheriff's side of the participation. If you are able to participate his contact info is brett.lockhart@bcso.us <mailto:brett.lockhart@bcso.us>
, That way the two agencies can coordinate if it's possible.
Ryett will be in The Cocoa Palmers Mobile Home Park (Hoppy's home). Depending on the size of participation, the parade will loop through the park. If the parade gets big enough,
we will bring Ryett up to the top of the neighborhood so he can watch the procession go down A1A.
Ryett's family has given so much to this community and they are about to lose a very special young man.
I am just trying to make the last adventures of Ryett's life contain as many moments of joy as possible.
I want his family to be able to look back at the end of his life and smile at these memories.
