HomeMy WebLinkAboutcocc_resolution_no_2022-23_20220921RESOLUTION NO. 2022-23 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE CANAVERAL, FLORIDA; REAPPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT AND CULTURE AND LEISURE SERVICES BOARD OF THE CITY OF CAPE CANAVERAL; PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF PRIOR INCONSISTENT RESOLUTIONS, SEVERABILITY AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Cape Canaveral, Florida, has by City Code Section 110-2, established a Board known as the Board of Adjustment; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Cape Canaveral, Florida, has by City Code Section 54-26, established a Board known as the Culture and Leisure Services Board; and WHEREAS, it is now incumbent upon the City Council of the City of Cape Canaveral to reappoint members to said boards. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE CANAVERAL, BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Recitals. The foregoing recitals are deemed true and correct and are hereby incorporated herein by this reference as a material part of this Resolution. Section 2. Reappointment to City Advisory Boards. Pursuant to Section 2-171(e) of the Cape Canaveral City Code, the City Council of the City of Cape Canaveral hereby reappoints the following individuals to the following boards: John Bond shall be reappointed to the Board of Adjustment, to serve until October 1, 2025. Joel Fair shall be reappointed to the Culture and Leisure Services Board, to serve until October 1, 2025. Kathryn Parks shall be reappointed to the Culture and Leisure Services Board, to serve until October 1, 2025. Following completion of these terms, these appointee may be eligible for reappointment if no other qualified applicants submit applications seeking appointment, consistent with the limitations set forth in section 2-171(f), City Code. Section 3. Repeal of Prior Inconsistent Resolutions. All prior resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of the conflict. Section 4. Severability. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase, word or portion of this Resolution is for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent City of Cape Canaveral Resolution No. 2022-23 Page 1 of 2 jurisdiction, such portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct and independent provision and such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portion hereto. Section 5. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption by the City Council of the City of Cape Canaveral, Florida.
