We were young (20s). The new owner of the empty lot next door to us came to us and asked if we would give up 6 inches of our land for him to build 4 townhouses. We were young (God, I’d never do that today) but hear me out. I agreed to the 6 inches under the condition that a beautiful mature tree that sat just inside our property line, between the 2, would not be cut down, the fence would have to be made to go around or between the new fence. He agreed. I came home one day a few months later (during their construction) and the tree was completely gone. He said the construction people said it had to go. A lie is just a lie. I hate liars. It says everything about who you are as a human. We all make mistakes of course but this is different. People are only as good as their word. I never forgot this terrible lesson and do not trust liars. This owner will have to pay money to have his 2 places made to fit. That’s all, it’s not rocket science. He just doesn’t want to spend the money even if it makes him a liar. Just like my neighbor could have paid to have the fence altered, simple, just didn’t want to spend the money. I believe you are talking about the lot split request on Central and Ridgewood? I noticed you wrote "variance" and want to make sure you are talking about the same thing. I remember you had previously emailed me on 8/1/22 about the lot split and assume that is what you referencing. Please let me know if this is about something else other than the lot split application. > > Respectfully, > > Wes Morrison > Mayor > City of Cape Canaveral > Office: (321) 868-1220 x208 > Cell: (321) 593-2335 > 100 Polk Avenue - P.O. Otherwise would be like cc building official flat out lied to city of cc residents and board members. Right? See you at the meeting. There is a lot to discuss on Tuesday with a Budget Workshop (with a proposed tax increase) and Council Meeting with 28 agenda items including Small Business Parking Regulations, Tree Removal, R1 Lot Split, Golf Carts, and more! Participate with Public Comment Online or In-Person! Hello Marcia, Reminder -- There is a Budget Workshop (with a proposed tax increase) at 5:00pm followed by our Regular Council Meeting at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, August 16th at City Hall. During the Regular Meeting, there is an Agenda Item where your Council will decide if we want to VOTE on a Resolution that takes an official position SUPPORTING or OPPOSING the Roundabout as part of the A1A Redevelopment Plan from FDOT. This is item number 17 on the Agenda. I have been open with my position of the Roundabout. I oppose it. I cannot speak for the rest of the Council. FDOT has been very helpful through this process and they have communicated that they are “open to listening to alternate solutions or design modifications that alleviate concerns and will achieve the same goals <https://WesMorrison.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=846a34 63f5e6cf501c93ca7a5&id=31ddae29a2&e=b7a80a53b9> ” so I believe that they will continue to work with the citizens of Cape Canaveral to find a solution that achieves our goal for a safer A1A. What can you do to provide your opinion on the Roundabout? 1. SHARE this information with your neighbors. 2. EMAIL your Council Members at CouncilMembers@CityofCapeCanaveral.org <mailto:councilmembers@cityofcapecanaveral.org> to tell them your opinions on whether you want our City to take an official position with a resolution on supporting or opposing the roundabout. Even if you have done this in the past, please do it again. 3. ATTEND the meeting on Tuesday Night. You can attend in-person or online <https://WesMorrison.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=846a3463f5e6cf501c93ca7a5&id=e81052eb3d&e=b7a80a53b9> . 4. *MOST IMPORTANTLY: PROVIDE PUBLIC COMMENT! You can do this in-person or online at the meeting by filling out a comment card. If you do not wish to speak at the podium, you can still fill out a comment card and then “wave in support or opposition” when your turn comes. If you can’t make the meeting, you can also submit Public Comment to be read into the record before NOON on Tuesday by emailing your comment to: CityClerk@CityofCapeCanaveral.org <mailto:CityClerk@CityofCapeCanaveral.org> This may be the last opportunity for you to provide your feedback on whether or not you feel that the City of Cape Canaveral Council should take action with a Resolution that SUPPORTS or OPPOSES the A1A plan with the Roundabout. Click Here to Email Your Council Members whether you want a Resolution that SUPPORTS or OPPOSES the Roundabout <mailto:councilmembers@cityofcapecanaveral.org> Prepare yourself. Tuesday’s Council Meeting will be a long one with the Budget Workshop at 5:00 and a 28-Agenda Item Regular Meeting starting at 6:00. Also, our proposed draft budget is the highest I have ever seen, and there is a proposed tax increase that I do not support. If you believe we should increase taxes or oppose this increase pl
